I dont think putting colors from the player palette on a weapon is a good idea, it wont be very easy to recognise as a weapon and it might even blend in with his jacket from the front. Also, I mostly told you to make them team colored so you wouldn't be limited to neutral hues, but I don't think you should be using only team colors either as that is also very limiting
Maybe the vermillion parts could be more orange and the orange part more yellow. It could possibly also have a white barrel like this old Super Soaker model. I also feel the model itself could be improved a little. I'd maybe remove the front water tank strut and color the one that's left the same as the gun body (so it seems like they're a one piece) much like the gun in the picture above.
so i was thinking about a summer item and it could make a little jingle when taunted (ice cream van sound, suggested by my friend) it's a pretty stupid/silly idea, but i was bored

This way he's not relying on Team Colored yellow, and the colors are way brighter and plasticier. And they're not used on a player. And also both teams would have a very different looking color scheme.

I decided redoing this: The polygons on that thing were terrible, really terrible. I have redone the entire model, specially the blade, but I can´t get a good AO bake, and I feel like I won´t get the same texture I did for the old version and that I loved. I tried redoing the UV so it fits the old texture, but I haven´t be able to do it. So does anyone want to help me with the AO at least? I will probably ask for a texturer, if anyone good at metal/wood is interested... New model (doesn´t seems different, bt it´s much more optimized):
let's load spy's new mask on demo. it probably wont fit right at al- Oh wow. Re-compiling to replace shutter shades asap.

It's a sort of cool pattern I guess, but it's too short to make the repetition instantly recognizable, which causes it to look random and uneven at the first glance. Make the handle straighter. While google image search tells me that your design is historically accurate, it looks like the handle of a medieval shortsword and therefore completely out of place to an uninformed observer. I think something like this would feel more intuitive:

Also, the handle is like that as you could see. The model was inspired by a WWII knife replica I own, a modern one, so it has that serrated part, Na dI didn´t even though about similar indentations, just adapted the real life model to TF2 style. But thanks again =D

The blue version is the same, it looks odd inverted. Good? However I don't think there's any problems with it blending in with his jacket tbh, the yellow canister is very large and distinct: I don't like the idea of using Bonk colours as they are ridiculously vibrant, additionally colours I've attempted to sample from other weapons are usually too dull, and it just stops looking like any colour you'd paint a water gun:

(Excuse the shitty mspaintover, I'm at work on my laptop with a mouse and I can only use my opposite hand for mice)
How does it look with the various misc sunglasses?
I'd say acceptable, and the Deus Specs are good.

Actually now that I think of it maybe a parody logo on the side of it that says "Buff" instead of "Nerf"? :v:
you could edit colors too so they look the way you want, again your limiting yourself py only using sampled colors
But it does look the way I want :P You're the one who doesn't like it
The Buff (tm) 'Über Soaker' logo for the Superb Soaker. :v: It could even have a referential description. "It's Nerf (the Pyro) or nothing!"
I'd say acceptable, and the Deus Specs are good.
I take it clips horribly with the chops.

After testing my seaside hat with a wide range of others it seems that having the starfish over the eye makes it clip with almost all of them. The only way to get around it would be to shrink the starfish a great amount, what do. :(
I've seen worse clipping on hats, I'd say just keep it as is.
Lets say I want to compile a weapon that has 2 parts, one attached to weapon_bone, and the other one to the left hand, and that it should look good in the Stand_melee position... what I have to do? How do I attach the parts correctly oriented to those bones in the right animation? Edit: I want to do waht Ronin and Psyke did with that cane for a victorian demoman set
Fun fact: By making an item with a design that forces into a specific niche, you get free bonus attention/promotion from people wanting weapons in that niche. In unrelated news, here's a design for a Tesla coil-based area-of-effect medigun:
But it does look the way I want :P You're the one who doesn't like it
Was mostly referring to the part about other colors not looking right, but yeah the main color is still too close to his jackt color on both teams imo, and the second red color is too close to the first one so there's no contrast between them.
For medic weapons it's better to use dark colors as his coat is so bright, so I suggest darkening that color scheme
I hadn't thought of that. Thanks! It's a good thing to keep in mind for future concepts. I think this color scheme would work for this particular medigun, though; Due to the nature of it, the backpack and coil would be more important to recognize than the handheld part. The handheld part is lighter than the existing medigun nozzles, but the backpack and coil are darker than the existing backpacks.

I'd like to but I'm very poor at making particles, and the gun is really dumb without them... I'll see if I can get some help there. The only grenades replacement is the darn Ornament Armaments too, so I think I'll do a Lumbricus Lid replacement as well.
