I hadn't thought of that. Thanks! It's a good thing to keep in mind for future concepts. I think this color scheme would work for this particular medigun, though; Due to the nature of it, the backpack and coil would be more important to recognize than the handheld part. The handheld part is lighter than the existing medigun nozzles, but the backpack and coil are darker than the existing backpacks.
Ah, yeah, good point
Ya gotta get Chaofanatic on the particles.
I'd say acceptable, and the Deus Specs are good.
they'll probably make it hat + lens, so it won't be compatible with any of those. Or they could just make it hat, but then it might conflict with future eyewear miscs.
I think I saw you in-game once too. Wasn't sure if it was you. I guess this confirms it.
Well, if you see a guy named Hideous murdering you as a Tank in a Chickey hat then yes, that's me.
Alrighty, swapped it round so the Red version is using mostly the Flare gun colour. The blue version is the same, it looks odd inverted. Good? However I don't think there's any problems with it blending in with his jacket tbh, the yellow canister is very large and distinct: I don't like the idea of using Bonk colours as they are ridiculously vibrant, additionally colours I've attempted to sample from other weapons are usually too dull, and it just stops looking like any colour you'd paint a water gun:
Feels like it needs an orange safety tip. American safety standards for toy guns require them and the Soldier would never buy some horrible foreign squirt gun that doesn't require it.
Feels like it needs an orange safety tip. American safety standards for toy guns require them and the Soldier would never buy some horrible foreign squirt gun that doesn't require it.
back in 1968, such standards didn't exist
back in 1968, such standards didn't exist
Neither did aluminum baseball bats yet here we are.
Invisibility watch. All arguments are invalid.
I think it will look better without an team colored yellow tip, especially if he makes the front grip yellow.
Futuristic Australia, the king of invalid arguments.
Invisibility watch. All arguments are invalid.
Nope. The (original) TF2 setting is influenced not only by what existed in the 60s, but what existed in the popular fiction of the 60s. The Spy's arsenal is typical retro spy move stuff, and therefore counts as chronologically appropriate.
Lets say I want to compile a weapon that has 2 parts, one attached to weapon_bone, and the other one to the left hand, and that it should look good in the Stand_melee position... what I have to do? How do I attach the parts correctly oriented to those bones in the right animation? Edit: I want to do waht Ronin and Psyke did with that cane for a victorian demoman set
Haaaaaaaaaaaalp...
On a related note:
Huh, I'm trying to do that too and succeeded on the last page. I rigged the thing in the right hand to weapon_bone and the thing in the left hand to bip_hand_l or what ever the left hand's bone is.
Red and Blu versions.
Looks great. Now if only Valve would fix the Pyro's tank, etc to be team-colored. Name suggestion still holds!
Apparently, I am famous. :v:
I think I remember seeing Constructor in the global chat in SMNC once. I wondered why his name was orange while everyone else's was white.
Curse my symmetrical UVs.
For text on mirrored UVs you can separate the tris out where you want the text to go and give its own space. This depends if you've got any where left to put it though in you UVW map and you might need to cover up some seams on the texture. It looks like it's on the non-FPS side so it should be OK. Or if that isn't possible you can add some faces on both sides that are protruded slightly, use another material and have some text with an alpha mask. The first option is better though.
I think I remember seeing Constructor in the global chat in SMNC once. I wondered why his name was orange while everyone else's was white.
That's not Constructor then, that's an UberEnt employee.
What if I AM an UberEnt employee?
I remember I even asked if it was you from Facepunch. Weren't you going by Jables? Or am I thinking of someone else that I saw... I definitely remember it was someone from the TF2 Emporium, and they had an orange Uberent name.
Red and Blu versions.
I don't think the starfish has to be teamcoloured, keep it the yellow colour on the BLU version. EDIT: oh shit pageking, have some content [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2867220/sniperrifle6a.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2867220/sniperrifle6b.jpg[/thumb] [thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2867220/sniperrifle_scope2.jpg[/thumb]
Kinda off topic, but I'm looking to get a tablet for texturing. Do any of the modeler+texturers here have a completely mobile setup that they can use to model, texture, and compile, all on the go? I'm not sure if there are any tablets that would allow one to model effectively with a mouse, then texture with the stylus.
What if I AM constructor?
What if I AM constructor?
you know how to rig an extra part of a weapon like you did with your demoman cane in the melee pose. I need to know how to do the same, but with soldier´s melee pose. Tell me your secrets or you won´t be Constructor anymore
I don't think the starfish has to be teamcoloured, keep it the yellow colour on the BLU version.
Pyro has enough problems with failing to adhere to team colors that will never be addressed.
You just rig the verts for the left hand's item to the left hand bone. Do I need any special pose, or the idle bone structure will be fine, positioning the models correctly?
