AAAAAAAAAAAAAAARG, That´s what I want to do!!! Daaaaaaaamn. Do I need any special pose, or the idle bone structure will be fine, positioning the models correctly?
Just rig all the verts to the hand bone, and he'l hold it just fine. There's nothing special you need to do. Just positon it properly. You know we're both making the exact same item, right? One of us could end up really disappointed.

Anyways, it´s something I haven´t done before, and it´s a good practice. Also, you said something was the first in the list of TF2 stuff! Come on, it was nearly finished =D
WAIIIIT, is everyone making plastic buckets and shovels for soldier? PSYKE GOD DAMNIT YOU KNEW ABOUT THIS [editline]19th May 2012[/editline]
What if I AM constructor?
Pfft, [del]you[/del] I wish.
see cuntsman, this is why you don't post concepts in the emporium.
Psyke told me to make a plastic shovel/bucket, but I won't be finishing it. The model was pretty finished, too :(
Actually i was gonna say that i boiled troll's nose hair over a couldron of rabbit stew and chanted an australian rain dance for an hour and replace the designated place to pour down this enchanted rain with that of my house and valve and it should rig well like how you intend it to be. But yeah what cuntsman said should work too.

PSYKE GOD DAMNIT YOU KNEW ABOUT THIS [editline]19th May 2012[/editline] Pfft, [del]you[/del] I wish.
I did some concept art for a spade melee, with a bucket of sand in the off hand. Petachepas also had the same idea, but for soldier. Mine is all class. if anyone else is making one, I'd heavily question were they got their inspiration from.
and i was making a pail and shovel too. Mine's green though to avoid IP issues.
Okay, anyone making summer heavy items? If not, I have boatloads of ideas waiting to be made. [editline]19th May 2012[/editline] Our bucket was going to have baby hermit crabs with ovo faces.
Kinda off topic, but I'm looking to get a tablet for texturing. Do any of the modeler+texturers here have a completely mobile setup that they can use to model, texture, and compile, all on the go? I'm not sure if there are any tablets that would allow one to model effectively with a mouse, then texture with the stylus.
if you're going to buy a tablet to go along with your laptop, an 8 inch wacom should do the trick and set you back 100 bucks. (I hear a lot of good stuff about Wacom Bamboo but the one im using in the office is an older model before the bamboo) However, i don't use my wacom to texture for TF2 because some of my brush strokes are simulated lasso tool and path too touch ups so a mouse suffices for me. (physical mouse and pad not a track plate or pad)
I'd like to but I'm very poor at making particles, and the gun is really dumb without them... I'll see if I can get some help there. The only grenades replacement is the darn Ornament Armaments too, so I think I'll do a Lumbricus Lid replacement as well.
I'll volunteer if you have a concept or something.

Quality is crap, but you can see the big problem of the running melee pose :v:
see cuntsman, this is why you don't post concepts in the emporium.
I had a better opinion of this place than that. Had.
Of course you are. I had a better opinion of this place than that. Had.
Well, this idea was a bit common, if you ask me, at least for me. I mean, when I had it, I didn´t fo it because there were a lot of time, but I thought someone would make it before me. Also, I only post concepts when I want a modeler for tehm, becuase even if you say you are going to do it and nobody else, some people will still do it. And if they are better modelers... you have to be fine with that 1% at least. For example, the stove flamethrower. Left 4 pills designed one, when I had one already in mind. Then nugget started another one based in a different concept. I gave up, of course, but I think I should have continued. If you don´t want me to submit it, well, I think I won´t. But we could even do a colection :v: If someone really based his idea on your concept and doesn´t tell... well, that´s wrong [editline]19th May 2012[/editline]
good god that's adorable now make the bucket swing along the handles axis and it'll be perfect
1. Thanks =) 2. I HAVE NO IDEAAAA. How could I do that?
Everyone makes summer items. Summer items apparently equal beach items. Plastic shovels are one of the first things that come to mind when brainstorming beach items. Soldier's stock melee is a shovel. Come on, it's a really obvious idea. Several people getting it independently is nothing out of the ordinary. If stuff like that counts as plagiarizing, I'm gonna go sue Svdl.

I can't say the same thing for others though.

oh my goddddd how do you people always find ways to fight over cartoon video game models
oh my goddddd how do you people always find ways to fight over cartoon video game models
Just wait until we all start making items for family guy online!
Need a tissue?
Not really. A bucket an spade? Made by you guys? I bet you two can't even get that right. Sometimes I wonder if you talentless little cretins have ever had a single independent creative idea. All you seem to do is copy stuff. You guys even set up a steam group for people to GIVE you ideas, as you have no credible ones of your own.
Jigglebones, my friend.
I didn´t know jigglebones will imitate gravity. I know you can make the "weight/mass" bigger, but... I mean, not that SO MUCH gravity
I didn´t know jigglebones will imitate gravity. I know you can make the "weight/mass" bigger, but... I mean, not that SO MUCH gravity
If you point the Z axis of the bone downwards with respect to the model and a high enough tip mass, it should emulate gravity
Feels like it needs an orange safety tip. American safety standards for toy guns require them and the Soldier would never buy some horrible foreign squirt gun that doesn't require it.
I'm pretty sure that law only applies to replica toys and airsoft. I've seen plenty of waterguns here without the orange tip.
The bucket and spade idea was something i chatted to constructor about. not ronin And i didn't even know you was working on one haha But thanks for voicing your opinions <3
I mean, you were even ASKED to make a promo for a game. Like, something that's usually guaranteed to get in, and look how badly you did? And what do you blame it on? Lack of communication with the company! As if you both couldn't do a good job without external input. You havent even shown an image of the heavy backpack you made that got turned down.
If you point the Z axis of the bone downwards with respect to the model and a high enough tip mass, it should emulate gravity
I can edit that Z axis in the QC, can´t I? But how exactly? Edit: I think I f¡gured it out
I can edit that Z axis in the QC, can´t I? But how exactly? Edit: I think I f¡gured it out
Do it in your modeling program. It's much easier that way.
