Question for anyone to answer. Is it possible to create a new bodygroup for an item to work properly?
Right now I'm working on a model similar to this [url]http://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Flip-Flops[/url] but it's for a class that does not have a leg bodygroup.
Anyone know how I would go about replacing a body part with a new model without having it clip with the default player model if it has no bodygroup to replace?

I do not believe that it is possible without creating a custom playermodel to create a bodygroup for. Otherwise you're out of luck. If I'm wrong, someone enlighten me.

Make yourself a checkered texture and try to make the squares all the same size everywhere on the item.

Here I made the squares smaller on the vinyl and the little thingy under it because I wanted them to have writings on them, so they needed more space on the uv.

Ah, oh well. That's a kick in the groin. Thanks for the quick response though.
Guess I'll have to wait a few years until Valve makes more bodygroups available to us.

Then I'll be continuing my model progress. It's a summer themed item after all so it should have some chance of getting noticed.
I hacked off Demoman's grenades while developing the whiff of the old brimstone, then Valve added the bombs bodygroup officially when they liked the idea. You can submit stuff that requires bodygroups, you just can't release them as mods.

awesoem but Im not sure why Im annoyed that theyre all painted white.
there are other paints but everyone uses white.
also thats some clipping with the aspect.
It's the default paint (or lack of paint) in modelviewer, and it's quite tedious to manually change it for every hat. I'm not even sure why it's pictured with the aspect as they are both head items.

Because it's easier and faster to just load the hats as weapons on the item and leaving them white rather than modifying the vmt for each item to actually show off paint on them. Not really necessary to make them all different colors when the positioning is the only important thing.

White is the lack of paint. That's just how it looks in the model viewer.

Finished the model and base texture so far for MegaBeth's Rocket Ma'am. Ignore the clipping on the shoulder :B I think it is impossible to get around really.
