Question, is it possible to replace the sounds for the stock rocket launcher to say, sounds of the rocket launcher from Unreal Tournament? and how difficult is it to fix it all up?
I guess it all depends on how easy it is to extract sound files from a .uax format.
Do you by any chance use a replacement model for the scattergun because the reloading mechanism quite literally can not work in real life?
I'd find it understandable to have suspension of disbelief over an unrealistically bolted hammer for the sake of making it look nicer but no suspension of a magical healing beam coming from a fire hose.
You're nitpicking over silly visual things that would make it "realistic" which I believe would ruin the visual cleanliness of the model and just after completely contridicting yourself saying that it's completely fine to heal someone with a firehose because it's suspension of disbelief.
I'm not changing it nor am I getting commie cake too do so either.
I've never noticed or been bothered by the scattergun reload mechanism, though that may have something to do with the fact that I don't know shit about guns.
About the screw, the problem isn't that it's not physically plausible. The problem is that it breaks subconscious expectations, and thereby becomes an unnecessary disturbance to the immersion. If there was a screw placed below the head of the hammer I probably wouldn't even notice the existence of the metal thing at all. The lack of a screw causes it to trigger a 'something is wrong here' reaction in my brain, and I start to focus on an unimportant piece of detailing for a completely pointless reason.
Healing someone with a firehose is justified partly because it fits with the 'exaggeratedly functional jury rigging' theme in tf2, and partly because healing people in a realistic way would be ineffective and a terrible gaming experience.
It's not my model, I can't force anyone to change it, nor do I have any ambition to do so. I disagree with a design choice, some people think I'm right, other think I'm wrong. It's up to you what you want to do with that information.
Also, with no relation whatsoever to the topic of design choices causing irrelevant distractions... Has anyone modeled a sweater vest misc for Scout?

How would I go about compiling a melee weapon with Itemtest? I have a .obj assigned to a "weapon_bone" but when I use itemtest it thinks that it's a hat even when I left "Auto skin to bip_head bone" unchecked.
The model and materials are compiled perfectly, but it thinks that the model is a hat/misc even when it originally was assigned to a "weapon_bone"(the bone from the Three Rune Blade model). The model doesn't rest in scout's hands, instead it's floating in empty space.

This one's awesome though, really loving the band texture. Waiting for a release.

Just do NOT make the hair paintable. Maybe the peace sign could be paintable?

I'm making the hair paintable because A) it makes more sense as it's a wig and B) I cannot make alphas that work in gimp so I have to use a seperate vmt for the hair.
PLEASE get someone to make the alpha for you. I do not want to see pink hair on pyro.

I don't see how using gimp for textures is even feasible if it can't handle alphas
considering the importance of phongmasks, paintmasks and optimization, if you want to make serious textures get your hands on photoshop even an old version would probably be better than gimp
Workshopped

How the christ does this have 84 votes this fast?
Some kind of Russian community joke?
The model and texture are awful.
I cannot make alphas that work in gimp
How? It's so simple.
All you have to do is merge all layers of the texture and give that resulting layer a Layer Mask, then put your alpha texture on it.
Of-course, the trick is to save the texture before doing this, and to not save it after. So you can keep the original texture in it's separate layers. Just put your alpha texture in a separate layer or in it's own image so you don't have to keep remaking it.
It's not as good as photoshop, but it works perfectly fine. It's how I've done it since I started, even now when I have photoshop. (my version Elements 8 and it came with my tablet, so it doesn't exactly let me toy with alphas)

Pressing down on you no mann ask for
Under pressure - that burns a spycrab down
Splits a heavy in two
Puts hats on heads

It's the terror of knowing
What this update is might see
Watching some good models
Screaming 'Accept me '
Burn tomorrow - gets me higher
Pressure on hats- hats on heads
huddah hum phm
O.k.
Choppin' around - kick my brainslug around the floor
These are the gabes that won't release 3 or 4
Huh mph udd phhmf
Hats on heads - he hudduh mph
Hats on heads - he ha hmpf
It's the terror of knowing
What this update will see
Watching some good models
Screaming 'Pick me'
Pray tomorrow - meets me sooner soon soon
Pressure on hats- hats on heads
Turned away from it all like a masked man
Reloade a Loch and Load but it don't work
Keep coming up with love
but it's so slashed and burned
Why - why - why ?
burn burn burn burn burn
Schadenfreude laughs under pressure we're cracking
Can't we give MtP one more chance
Why can't we give MtP that one more chance
Why can't we give love give love give love give love
give love give love give love give love give love
'Cause love's such an old fashioned word
And love dares you to care for
The people on the edge of the night
And loves dares you to change our way of
Caring about our hats
This is our last hat
This is our last hat
This is ourselves
Under pressure
Under pressure
