I know it was marked as incompatible, but that doesn't explain why it wasn't ever released as a mod.
As usual, I can't think of any names. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also it looks a little derpy in the bottom right with the Shugo angle, ah well.
"The Day Job" or "The Dandy Capp".
I found this interesting article while on my daily surf routine: http://io9.com/5916970/the-22-rules-of-storytelling-according-to-pixar Give it a read. I think some of it is relevant for item making, just insert your workshop item where it talks about characters. I especially love #8.

i need your opinions on subclasses: Scout = ? Demoman = Demoknight Medic = Battle Medic Engineer = Battle Engie Spy = Dead Ringer Spy Pyro = ? Heavy = ? Soldier = ? Sniper = Huntsman Sniper for those "?" what do you think would be nice on the gameplay perspective. I like the original idea that the Scout gathers metal and med packs for the team. What you guys think?
Fat Scout is a cool heavy subclass. GRU + Shotgun
Fat Scout is a cool heavy subclass. GRU + Shotgun
Heavy for automatic chaingun-shotgun hybrid.
Heavy for automatic chaingun-shotgun hybrid.
This isnt much of a drastic gameplay change since basically you'll just point your gun at a place and tank forward. i much like the shield heavy with the FOS but i dont know if thats a valid subclass.
I wonder if they'd ever add a shield for Heavy's primary that adds 200 HP, but he loses his primary AND secondary. So he's a gigantic beast tank, that has terrible damage output. Just stand and shield and let the Soldier's fire away from behind you.
-well fuck you too alfie :(-
Gave you your 300th winner :v:
That's only updated at the end of every week or something, so you probably just gave him his 306th or whatever.
Soldier can be a support class. Nobody plays him as one, but he has weapons in every slot to boost his team or set up situations for allies. Cow Mangler/Any Banner/Disciplinary Action Disable sentries, boost allies with speed and defense/attack/health. Soldier's got a healthy amount of HP, good mobility, and even with this loadout, his damage output is respectable. Actually, writing this out makes me wonder why more people don't play full on support Soldier. I guess it's because everyone wants soldiers to be the prime damagers on teams, and leave support to Medic and Engineer.

Uses the Cow Mangler, and I forget what else. [editline]9th June 2012[/editline]
i need your opinions on subclasses: Scout = ? (activates some sort of beacon effect on them, maybe mini-crits for a set time after targeting?)

I wonder though at which animation the heavy should be holding that shield. Also i imagine the stats are more like -25% damage taken.

I want something that really changes the way a person would play him. I like the idea of tracking people as well but this ability doesnt need new weapon model and you can basically attach that stat to any item ala hypocrates. What about a scout that steals ammo for any enemy he touches? Would that be buyable? [editline]9th June 2012[/editline]
Soldier can be a support class. [editline]9th June 2012[/editline]
Fan O' War
I think what he means is like tracking in the sense of how the medic sees the medic calls from the UI perspective. Something like that for the scout could be cool too.

If you guys are wondering why im asking, i'm trying to come up with new sets for some of the classes that would give Valve some ideas for alternative gameplay tactics. I think this will give TF2 a bit more longevity. And i like other combos too than just medic+heavy and engie+pyro. Here's another idea. Disruptor Spy. A Spy that runs around the enemy camp and use a sapper-like device that affects the enemy UI with some sound and shaking effects.
Hey, everyone! I never really post on the emporium, once or twice a month, but I just wanted to say, because why not, that just about every person who helps with a model, whether it's an AO bake, texture, fixes, etc. is awesome at what they're doing. And even the people that don't submit anything are still great people. So, I guess, keep up the good work!

What about a scout that steals ammo for any enemy he touches? Would that be buyable?
The most drastic class change that exists is the Demoknight -- and that was created primarily as a way to "create" a 10th class without actually creating an entirely new character complete with model, textures, animations, voices, and whatnot. This worked out better than creating a 10th class not only for efficiency, but because it allows the players to mix and match weapons that could have very easily been allocated to separate classes -- it allows combos of explosives and melees that could have never existed without the subclass. The more drastic changes include the Huntsman, the Gunslinger, and the Shortstop. However, at their core, they are still the same class. Sniper still remains as the headhunting assassin and Engineer still remains the constructor of buildings and Scout still stays as the high-speed & high-mobility harassment unit. The differences lie in how the weapons operate -- for the Huntsman, its projectile nature draw the Sniper closer to the front lines so that his shots are more reliable to connect with a target (this was an intentional decision, as the Huntsman prototype -- The Walkabout -- was actually a hitscan rifle). The mechanics of the Combat Mini-Sentry are more appealing to aggressive Engineers than passive ones; this is directly shown by the lesser cost, faster build time, and extra health for the Engineer. With the Shortstop, the Scout gets less reward for getting up close and personal -- encouraging him to kite enemies more often than he normally does. It emulates the Scout from TFC but with a lot more potency due to Scout's high mobility. The "subclasses" can still be played as their original counterparts, albeit with less success. However, the Demoknight is forced to play differently from the Demoman because he trades explosive ordinance for melee-attack power. In order to create another subclass at the same severity as Demoknight, I would expect that it would require a lot of involvement with the TF team, otherwise any item that is created could potentially get some cookie-cutter attributes or become a passive item (nullifying the intent of creating a subclass).

He kind sits there with his arm up, holding something (could hold the back of the shield) Alternate (and really bizarre), maybe Sandvich? He holds his one hand on his hip, his other arm kind of casually sits there in front of his body.
Because the cow mangler is much less effective on sentries than a few well placed rockets.
nonono you don't go about with that mindset playing support Soldier. You go around paralyzing sentries so Demoman can take them out. It's not your job as a support to take out sentries.
Protective rubber hood for Pyro. Wasn't sure what to do with the colour of the hood. I wanted to keep it grey so it matched the gloves but i've been told it looks too much like the original head, so i tried a dark red... suggestions?

Kinda stupid in retrospect, but it might work, I guess.
