Hnng, this is exactly what I love in items, both simplistic yet clean, fitting and unlike the current weapons. Great job!
Requesting a small bookshelf as a pyro backpack.
The books would all be of TF2 lore or hat-related fairytales, like "The Story of Australian Christmas".
I'm currently looking for ideas for a new item. The bookshelf backpack sounds like something I could give a try.
What about a golf replacement for the Sandman?
Replace the ball with a golf ball and such
Little thing I did for practice.

Base texture
While it's probably no big deal, I got bored and theorized that it'd be possible to rip stage based models from games, import them as a giant mesh obj, then export to SMD to compile in Source. I did it with the thought in mind that other games maps could be imported into Hammer as a gigantic mesh to "trace" over for accurate recreations of maps in Hammer.
Well, in my boredom, I attempted it and actually succeeded. I have textures, but I'd have to go through manually editing each one in the SMD in order to make them show up, and that clearly isn't worth the effort for a simple PoC.
So, here it is. This is an N64 rip of Ganon's castle (exterior) being imported into Source. I could likely apply this to things like Lon Lon Ranch or Kokiri forest and make a series of brushes to overlay models similar to what's seen here.
I'm probably millenniums late on this; but I have never actually seen it done elsewhere.
Alternatively you can use this!

Ignore the stuff about the proxies etc but note around the 18 minute 29 second mark he shows you how to export the entire 3ds max scene as a vmf to open in hammer.

Hm, that's an excuse as good as any to compile an updated concept dump.
So yeah, if you feel like making that backpack, don't mind me. If you want some other ideas, feel free to follow that link.

It was Tals attempt at my hood, but i wasn't pleased with how it was looking, so he has made his own hood.

I'm confused as to why no-one has modeled this yet. I think its possibly one of my favorite medigun ideas ever.
guys, tell me how to make items while changing part of the character? Example: I want to make shirt for sniper or i want to replace hevy's armor or customize hevy's shirt. I see models where , in example, medic's coat and spy suit replaced to jacket

I think you generally just model stuff on top of the existing player model. There are some mods (the casual outfits spring to mind) that replace the whole player model, but I think that requires way more work, skill and knowledge to pull off.
Speaking of which... Would it be possible to create clothing items that can't be made with the first method (a replacement for Heavy's armor, as a convenient example) by making a normal clothing item and then rigging it on top of one of those shirtless player models someone did, provided you ask that person for permission and give credit? That seems like it would be more easy and convenient than rebuilding everything from scratch for every such item.

I think this would look better as a Soldier banner. Plus, wouldn't the wood and paper be extremely easily burned? :v:

All the classes have a paper party hat that does not burn up and (i think) sticks to the heads of the classes even upon death.

Soldier yells "STORY TIME!" and the team gathers around him to hear some good tales. :v:
I don't know about the others, but for me Pyro is mostly the class who burns, not the one who gets burned.
Fire spreads...

Not sure if either of these are good basecolours for medic, but i'd like to keep the colours different for each class so it's not so confusing for class recognition.

The team color draws one's attention to the nozzle, which seem like an odd choice. I suggest making it brown instead. If you want the mask to have some color, I think a slight tint on the lenses would be a better choice.
Other than that, it looks great.
Guys I'm having some major issues. TF2 is no longer loading any mods. Source SDK out of nowhere gave itself a fresh install, and now also won't load mods nor will it let me access my models that aren't in the game. All of the mods are still installed, and I reinstalled a few just to be sure, but they still won't load. Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Just an fyi, for your Steam profile link here on Facepunch, you just need to enter your ID and it makes the button with the rest of the URL, you put the whole URL in that field so your Steam profile button has a broken link.

I need an better idea for the reload sequence. (actually need more than one idea)
My current idea is :
- When the gun is overheated, the reload will "cool down" the heat of the gun.
