Just finished up the player model version of this fellow. Vestless Heavy will get this treatment too fairly soon.
The left wrist is oddly twisted in first person. I could see the individual triangles due to the lighting.
That slightly-broken version is actually really clever.
It wasn't an explicit rule, just a guideline. The classes were all designed in such as way that everything that can affect gameplay is easily identifiable. The classes are colored and shaded in ways to draw attention to their torso, where they hold their weapons.
The WAR! Update introduced the Gunboats, but that was a tolerable case because it was still very easy to associate "things on Soldier's feet must be a secondary passive." This also applied to the Razorback and the Buff Banner as well, making those back-riding items easy to distinguish from a non-user of those items.
The Set hats from Mannconomy screwed with that by interlinking weapons and cosmetics to affect gameplay. It was a flop but was not undone because of purchases that people made.
Come Halloween 2011, 2 feet miscs are introduced for Soldier and Demoman. At a passing glance, it is not easy to identify if it is a passive secondary or just a cosmetic because as more and more items get added, it gets more difficult to identify what exactly does what; just flat-out knowing that it does something is important too. The Tooth Kickers on the Soldier and Demoman do the same thing.
First sentence would have sufficed. Only wanted to know if that's ever been outright stated to avoid, rather than just another thing people complain about because they can.
Well, I don't see the problem with the Kendo mask, there are lots of similar items ingame (mainly the hats which affect the face region) and this one doesn't seem to break the general silhouette too much.
Does anyone know why the Jigglebones aren't working in my movies, but work in the demo?
A better question is, does anyone know how to record demos to movies where the jigglebones work?
I've used Fraps, and "startmovie [videofilename] avi" which led me to "startmovie [videofilename] h264" for quicktime format.

"blue fire axe!!!"
Adding paint chart collection for the matchbox. This should be basically finished by now, just need some tweaks.

There. It's jiggleboned. Happy?
Not fucking with recording the jigglebones today.
I would like to remind everyone again that THIS IS A HLMV SHOT. The lighting and everything look MUCH BETTER INGAME than in HLMV. If I recieve comments about lighting or transparency based on this one screenshot I will not hesitate to ignore them
Edit: I think it's about time I started trying to come up with names for the items.
oh oh
Magician's Mason Jars
Arsonist's Alchemy
Portable Magma
I Can't Believe this isn't Jarate
The Healing Potion
The Insane Alchemist
The Magical Dangling Doodads
1% for naming it (if you like any of the names) so I get a self made would be nice :3
The Healing Potion
But on BLU, it's a Mana Potion.
oh oh
Magician's Mason Jars I don't like alliteration
Arsonist's Alchemy Or assonance
Portable Magma But it's not magma?
I Can't Believe this isn't Jarate Too long and generally unfitting
The Healing Potion Might work for red, but not for blue
The Insane Alchemist Maybe
The Magical Dangling Doodads Slight alliteration and a bit long
Thanks for trying though.
