Oh and it shouldn't be that circlish - I mean if you grabbed it with a bit more force while reloading, normally it would jam all the time because it goes so high up.

If you are looking for a real life shotgun (actually not a shotgun but a rifle, anyway there is the winchester model 1897 that is a pump action shotgun with an hammer system)

Make the screws a little bigger, too. TF2's proportions are excaggerated, screws should be no different.

I figured it was a Winchester thing. Still unless you want to mess with animations you'll have to figure out something about that grip either way.
And don't scrap the idea. It's something remotely ingenious as far as model look goes for TF2 shotguns.
If I may suggest you should model a small hole around the hammer so it doesn't look like it's glued on. Of course only in the viewmodel because there's no need for extra vertices on the worldmodel.
Given all the renewed effort in the shotgun market here, I [i]really[/i] should finish my Stevens 520/Family Business replacement....
