If we are to make TF3 now, what art style do you guys think we should go with?
I've actually been drawing doodles of an 80s TF team. Seems like the perfect choice, all mainstream culture these days loves 80s nostalgia, the community clearly loves it based on the shutter shades and boombox, and it chronologically is close enough to 1968 that it can continue the story.
Wait, did ronin ever release the .50 cal rifle he made?
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1056950&searchtext= :I http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1056412&searchtext= :II http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1058445 :IIIIIII
I actually like the show alot, i've also made a model, hell even a skin. But why do these idiots have to throw these reskins everywhere? Keep them for yourself god damnit, expecially if you're trying to upload them on the workshop...
I do like how the color pallete of TF2 is very consistent throughout. This will conflict very much with many "fatigue" and "camo" tropes of the 80's era weapons and gear. I think that's the first challenge since when people mention "80's" i immediately associate the era to Rambo. [editline]17th April 2012[/editline] also, pixar + tf2 + 80's = tf3 art style. Make it happen.
And then TF3 is confirmed to be entirely medieval.
:I
Avatar fits.
It's funny because I made the Sniper Rifle reskin for a friend.
You made the skin or the whole model?
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1056950&searchtext= :I http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1056412&searchtext= :II http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1058445 :IIIIIII
They're not just matting shitty skins anymore They now steal good mods and inject their disease into those.
You made the skin or the whole model?
The skin. Someone else made the actual model.
Ronin?
Yeah I think it was him.
The skin. Someone else made the actual model.
Ronin?
South by New South
Late I know, but I liked this name. Just seemed fitting.
I can't imagine a TF3, I doubt Valve would make a third one, if they did I'd guess it would take a long time and that it would be quite different from TF2 anyways.
Sorry Sharc, I've inadvertently made it comically small :v: I'll improve it later...

With the item economy catching them by surprise and virtually funding every other game they have, i wont be surprised if they made another TF that will really take advantage of these markets.

Now you've said it I wanna play it again. Shame it's never really populated anymore.

Custom soundtracks would work so cool as a little minor feature of TF2. Could be used for menu music at the minimum, but also having music during respawn could be kind of cool.
Reminds me of that mod that replaced all the ambience sounds with kirby songs

Background ambience to maps, it fits really well in current TF2.
if you take time to listen, you can hear dogs barking, cows mooing and variant industrial sounds. They're really subtle though, and I actually mention the barking specifically since I just noticed it a few weeks ago. It's both good and bad that ambient sounds are so subtle. On one hand, you don't want audio cues to be cluttered, but on the other sometimes TF2 can just be too quiet
If we are to make TF3 now, what art style do you guys think we should go with?
Realistic[sp]Read:Brown and Grey[/sp]Soldiers, with the 9 classes being a choice between 9 slighty different kinds of Assault Rifles+SMG combinations. That way the game is more kid-friendly :v: [sp]Disclaimer:I fucking hate generic CoD shooters, this is a joke.[/sp]

Heh. I already downloaded them from tf2mods. They are awesome because they are so high-poly and have billions of vmts and animations.

if it has more than one VMT it can't crit glow ;_; Maybe I should make a quick tutorial on things to avoid if you want your weapon to crit glow? And you should always want your weapon to crit glow.

I assure you, if all the vmts are set up to crit glow the model will crit glow.
