What's the general consensus on sparkwire? Do you guys honestly dislike him? I really can't recall anytime where he's been egotistical, cocky, or a flatout asshole just to be an asshole. Most of the time when I see him being rather...blunt, is when he wants to tell someone that their model isn't honestly good. He doesn't sugar-coat it and honestly he's gotten a reputation that's just not fair in anyway whatsoever. For everyone who say's that he's an asshole; tell me if you've honestly and sincerely talked to him.

Well during the Fast Learner raffles he did out of pocket, he bought one just for me and I didn't even win any of them. I see what you're saying about him getting straight to the point and such about critiques, but I think he is honestly a nice person.
I think he's a talented dude.
He's blunt, but not necessarily bad. I like him
Everyone has a different opinion on him, most people I know have bad opinions, but that's not a discussion for now, he is a very veerrry talented modeler though.

You might call it blunt but I call it being a dick.
If you made something that I didn't like I would tell you what would make it look better in my opinion.
Sparkwire would just tell you that it sucks.

I love sparky because he's talented and hilarious. He should expect people are going to be pissed when he acts blunt though.
Also you get what I'm assuming is a very different personality when you talk to him that he won't necessarily have with anyone else.

Does anybody remember that one spiked bat that was going to be team colored with paint and had a weird wood texture and everybody hated but the guy just kept making?

While I'd love to agree with you about sparkwire being a dick (<3 u spark), he tells you it sucks and gives you pointers on how to fix it, sometimes they're not all too helpful but they do help or, atleast they've helped me, become a better modeler :V

Even though part of the emporium is drama, you don't have to outright try to start some.
Sparkwire's an alright guy, he's just a little too harsh sometimes. One thing is for certain though, he's a fucking fantastic modeler.
I allways thought the community got along well but it seems there are quite a lot of tensions here.

as someone who travels on most of the major TF2 communities, let me tell you they pretty much hate each other. I think Polycount and FP are probably the closest, but even so they're indifferent. SPUF vs Facepunch can get ugly and Reddit is always on their own and hate both of you sometimes and love everyone sometimes.
As far as Sparkwire goes, he's very talented, and I'm pretty indifferent to his personality.
I even hate FP sometimes such is the life of a passive-aggressive nerd.

I meant tensions between contributors rather than between communities, though I got to say that I would not really treat these topics in places like reddit or SPUF.
