It's possible, though the grip on the item would be weak.
But then, it's not a product made for killing. Or for ages 11+.
hey i have that very same toy in my house!
Since the soldier has plenty of stuff and Engineer not as much, clearly the solution is to turn the Engineer into the Soldier.

A TRUE AMERICAN HERO.
[editline]8th July 2012[/editline]
I take it there's no chance of seeing any of Gen. Bombthebastards' kit for Soldier ..? :v:
So i went with a spy tux idea yesterday. Did some more work on it today

SVDL, I'm really really really late on this, but I don't think that kilt you were making earlier should be paintable since half of demo's team coloring is in the legs.

That's dumb, what's next, a VAC ban?

It's paintable in the same way the heavy's new shirt is paintable. It gets the teamcolors from paint, but you won't (or shouldn't) be able to actually use paint on it.
Spy misc shirt idea

Minus the cross necklace
Not sure Valve would add a priest's collar for Spy but... it's just a cool looking shirt anyway
Btw I hope spark will get his account back in the proper state. This shouldn't happen to a regular contributor in tf2
Things like this always scare me. With a click of a button your entire steam account can get deleted or suspended. It freaks me out.

Very cool, but I think its chances of getting into the game is very slim simply due to how similar he will look to the Soldier, especially seen from behind. With the characters being heavily designed to have distinguished silhouettes and easily recognizable appearances, I don't think Valve would allow anything that could possibly confuse players about what class you're playing.
Toasty Engineer: its 1 thing thats confusin me how can i make items?
A trained chimpanzee: First, get a 3D modeling program. From what I've heard, Blender is both good and free. Read/watch a bunch of tutorials about using the program and 3D modeling in general. Make some crappy practice models to learn the basics, then start making real items.
Toasty Engineer: O.o thats a lot of text

This guy shows great modeling potential.

Funny enough, I kinda anticipated to this, but in a different way.
Like, how is it supposed to work without the pilotlight? So I've made a version with it:

The theme is doom_(class name)_(basic weapon description).
OK. Easy to remember.
I don't think Mann Co would make vacuums.
Love that you used Ballinger though.

I was thinking about using Schucker & Sons, and used the logo as placeholder. Though over time the MannCo logo looks nice, even fitting with the slides. should I try the Schucker in the same style?
EDIT: btw, the ballinger logo was [Square]'s idea, so the credit goes to him.

What programm you use>? Blender?
How about making a guitar for Pyro?
It doesn't look like Pyro made it from a normal vaccuum cleaner, so I think it makes sense to have Mann Co on it. Makes it feel like it's one of their products.

I think you should just make up a new name (so it will be short like Mann Co.) and try it in this style

Nah, Mann Co mostly makes straight up weapons, and a few disguised gadgets for spy, this thing makes more sense as one of pyro's DIY weapons.

texture work
I think the Pyro set is alot better than your Medic set. The Medic backpack and needlegun don't seem like stand out for me, texture wise is think it's all great, though I would think about making your Pyro secondary is different colour (green like the top thing?) or shade being that at long range it'll look similar to the flare, medium and close range the T-junction canister will obviously stand out. The rug beater melee looks quite new and I think could do with a tiny bit for wear/fraying for some detail when in 1st person. How does your Pyro hat look on other heads and does the bug spray need custom animations? I think it could work with stock animations kinda, the Pyro's thumb is going to look weird fiddling with the pull cord on a stock reload though.
