Also that Vacuum would make a great model for the airblast based Pyro primary everyone always makes stats for. [editline]7th July 2012[/editline] Auto-merge fail [editline]7th July 2012[/editline] oh and dont make my dislike of your needlegun to heart, the only one community made I've ever really liked is Sexy's The Hypodermic Dilemma
So i went with a spy tux idea yesterday. Did some more work on it today
tuxedo doesnt end right below the ribcage bro, make it as long as regular spy coat
New lease of life for the first thing I put on the workshop.
I think the Pyro set is alot better than your Medic set. The Medic backpack and needlegun don't seem like stand out for me, texture wise is think it's all great, though I would think about making your Pyro secondary is different colour (green like the top thing?) or shade being that at long range it'll look similar to the flare, medium and close range the T-junction canister will obviously stand out. The rug beater melee looks quite new and I think could do with a tiny bit for wear/fraying for some detail when in 1st person. How does your Pyro hat look on other heads and does the bug spray need custom animations? I think it could work with stock animations kinda, the Pyro's thumb is going to look weird fiddling with the pull cord on a stock reload though.
That was one of my concerns, besides the fact it doesn't seem to fit with the rest of the set in color. I'll try some metal variations, but I have a feeling that anything related to green on a weapon is disliked here. The bugspray doesn't need custom animations, it works just like manmelter (as it's going to replace in the mod release)
some kind of coat
I like it, but are you sure that won't be covering up too much of Sniper's team colors?

Got the idea from watching Captain America again. Was gonna try a style with the goggles on his eyes and the helmet tilted back a bit too, ah well.
Do you guys take requests in here? If so, would anyone be so kind as to make me a Tommy Gun? I would like it to fit in the hands of the Soldier. I will be using it in my upcoming video, so it doesn't need viewmodel animations and such. I'm the creator of Meet the Family If you're interested just get in contact with me however you like, and if you need additional information just ask.

As soon as I get my hands on my other PC I might model something silly, an Ullapool Caber replacement: A bottle of Cola with a tube of Mentos on top of it, held together with duct tape.

Also, This concept was unanimously (not even I am objecting) deemed unfitting in the classic update thread. As I still kind of like the idea though, I figured posting it here as a Soldier melee concept could be worth a shot.
You sure that was a Tommy or was it a Sten?
Yeah, I'm sure. I'm not talking about the one he posted just recently, it was a WIP he showed me in chat a longer time ago.
As awesome as using a bayoneted rifle in close combat is, I don't think it'd really fit the Soldier's melee animations. For one thing, bayonets generally don't have the edges sharpened since they're stabbing weapons, so swinging it around would be rather silly. And even if the Soldier had sharpened his (which is a pretty big possibility considering his lack of formal training), come on, swinging a rifle around with one hand like that?

From the reference pic googling I did, it seemed like WW1 bayonets tended to be spike-shaped and WW2 bayonets tended to be dagger-shaped. I assumed those daggers had sharp ends, but I know very little about weaponry so I may be wrong. Swinging a rifle in one hand is indeed a rather ineffective way to fight, but I think it's the kind of melodramatic patriotism the Soldier would enjoy. Holding up a rifle in one hand is really a pretty iconic pose in nationalistic romanticism. [t]http://i.imm.io/vvbp.png[/t] [t]http://i.imm.io/vvbK.png[/t] [t]http://i.imm.io/vvcj.png[/t]
Since the soldier has plenty of stuff and Engineer not as much, clearly the solution is to turn the Engineer into the Soldier.
:v:
you may as well hit someone with the rifle's butt if you're going to use it as a clubbing weapon. the bayonet is just a pointy knife.

I know that the modern rules for bayonets say no sharp edges, and any soldier who gets caught with sharp edges on their bayonet gets in deep shit, but I'm not exactly sure when those rules came about. Either way, Soldier's crazy enough to ignore a little thing like "rules" and make his bayonet a slashing weapon anyway. Ah, I see what you mean. Didn't think of it that way - probably because Australia's not exactly known for nationalistic romanticism :v:
you may as well hit someone with the rifle's butt if you're going to use it as a clubbing weapon. the bayonet is just a pointy knife.
It's a (possibly somewhat dull) metal edge at the end of a long, swing-friendly stick. That's basically the same thing as the shovel.
