Plus it couldn't really have a trading flag on it, which would be funny, but too big a part for an all class misc. Wait... does the Buff Banner clip with the intel? Or did they make it small enough to fit inside it? And wouldn't the Buff Banner's flag clip through it anyway? Valve doesn't think clipping through much do they?
Clipping, schmipping, the intel is more important than any other single gameplay item in the game

There are arrows and outlines pointing you out, as well as a paper trail, you can see the intel carrier just fine.

It's important to be able to see it, especially if someone's mind is drifting in gameplay, they may be in the middle of the frey and not even notice the carrier, if it weren't for the HUD elements. But yeah, some cosmetic items have gotten way out of hand. Especially the Liquor Locker. That thing is still kinda bad in my opinion.

How does smoothing in 3ds max work? Whenever I decompile something, fiddle with the bones and recompile it, the smoothing is off so it's visibly sharp in places it shouldn't be. [img]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/37749778/whyismyhandbleeding.png[/img] So yeah how can I get rid of that.

That's because when importing SMDs you lose smoothing groups, so the importer gives you smoothed normals directly instead of smoothing groups.

maybe a bold cel-shaded outline on the Chu? To make it seem like it was just plucked right out of windwaker. Because right now it looks a little blobby. I know it's a blob by nature, but it's a little weird to look at

[/QUOTE] The ballcap is backwards and it was made before any of those, The caps from MNC fit as it's a sports-ish game and ballcaps with team logos are to be expected, same with store logos. Ellis already had that cap and it looked cool. The first two tricorns are a bit of a mess up, but look different enough. The summer hunt was a natural progression, and have treasure chest/squids to help them stand out. The stamp hat and the bicorne look nothing alike, and their only resemblance to those are tricorn and bicorn. The luchadore is an actual item from SR3, and heavy already had a mask like it, hence giving it to him. The company man's just lazy.

Yeah, all those items have reasons for being in the game. The design choices behind them nevertheless show a pretty lax attitude toward similar items. The treasure hunt hats could just as well have been conquistador helmets, pirate bandanas or treasure map paper hats. The World Traveler's hat could have been a pilot helmet, a pair of aviator shades, a sailor cap, a conquistador helmet (too), a pith helmet.. Bicornes/tricornes are a pretty far-fetched choice of hat. It has nothing to do with the 60s, industrial desert landscapes or demolition. There wasn't anything [I]forcing[/I] Valve to include a whole bunch of them, and if they had had something against putting similar items in the game they could have easily avoided it. Most of the same things apply to the luchador masks and baseball caps. I don't have anything against this attitude, mind you. I happen to dislike most of those hats, but I wouldn't have anything against seeing more flatcaps, bowler hats, fedoras, military helmets, garrison caps and jeep caps in the game. I prefer subtle variation over outlandish variety. And again, I think those pipes give off completely different vibes. I think a black mustache against the Medic's skin would be visible enough to be worth wearing. Thanks for contradicting me, by the way. Nothing like a little rant to break the boredom.
