For what it's worth, I'm thinking of emailing the TF2 Team my Worst of the Workshop item collection link. I know this isn't exactly mod-related but I figured that several community contributors here have communicated with Valve in the past, and would know if this was something worth sending them. What do you guys think of my letter so far? Would it be worth it to send this?

Subject: Workshop Moderation - "Worst of the Workshop" Item Collection with over 350+ Workshop items breaking the rules.
To attempt tackling the problem of Workshop Spam on Team Fortress 2's Workshop, I have gathered over 350 of the Workshop entries that break the rules (I imagine around 400 if you count deleted entries) and counting over the course of three days into a single Workshop Item Collection entitled "Wanted: Worst of the Workshop (Downvote and Report)" with more rule-violating entries being added everyday. I have enlisted fellow community members that also care about the well-being of the workshop to organize a community effort into cleaning the workshop, and have also presented users advice of what belongs on the workshop with a citation from an official Valve employee from the user forums within the Item Collection's description.
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=83896804
I am not sure to what extent of influence my item collection has had, but within the two to three days the item collection has been assembled, over 75 workshop entries that violate workshop rules listed in the item collection have been removed. The Item Collection has been receiving positive attention from various forums, and has gained several users that down vote and report the entries added to the list.
My efforts to clean the workshop have gone well so far, but I decided to send you all a link to the item collection to see if you were able to take any additional course of action regarding the collection of rule violating workshop entries, whether to speed up the deletion of spam or to help in any other way you can.

I love this. Good on ya, man.
Sent the letter.

put a shower head on the exit of that and you'd get an incendiary shotgun -makeshift style.
I was messing around, trying to think of something I could add to the knife and thought about how the Sniper is holding it. He's holding it with the blade going down, meaning he'd be brutally stabbing people with it, so I added some blood.

Y/N?
Oh, cool, unintentional pageking.
Maybe if it was red and not orange.

I took the color from the bloody Bonesaw that is in SFM. It kinda makes sense as the actual color of the blood particles is that orange. I'll change it to red in a second, though.

Better?

Much. Now it looks like blood from an enemy instead of a fight gone bad with the nickelodeon logo.
the krukri is a blade meant to be swinged, not to stab.
if you ever got blood on it, it would be along the edge, not on the tip.
plus, you could go rambo on it to make it look even nicer(and make it fit the sniper's bandanas)

I think it could use a band.

I didn't make the knife, I'm only texturing it. ZombiePlasticClock made the Sniper hold it a certain way, so when he attacks with it he stabs people.

Be forewarned, user animations and Team Fortress 2 is as taboo to Valve as it is crashing a semi truck full of frozen meat through a vegetarian restaurant.
Started work on this thing again.

It isn't a new animation, it's the normal swing the Sniper does. The weapon is just positioned that way.
oh, i forgot about that knife.
on another note, was that medigun withthe backpack at the waist ever got relased? checked the 1st page but didn't found it.

How do the first person animations look with the weapon held like that? The one I'm most concerned about is the crit swing, but the others would be nice to see too

Here are the frames of impact for each animation.

The first one and crit swings are perfect, the second one is meh.

Isn't sniper brutally stabbing himself in that full anim.
Isn't sniper brutally stabbing himself in that full anim.
Probably.
Added a band.

It will be paintable, I am just using gimp at the moment.
(So no alpha editing.)
I will eventually open it up in photoshop though, once I get it uv'd well.

They'll just slap "No random crits" onto it and call it a day if they see it as problematic.

Paintability IS possible with gimp. It's been said and I will say it again, the newest version of the vtf plugin is broken, use the version one before the current and it works fine.

Yeah, but I have photoshop.
So I will just be lazy and use it.
Eventually I will get gimp working though.
It's quicker to use, and I like it's handle on layers.

Old design is the one on the bottom, new one is on top
Decided to change the nozzle of the flamethrower, and the color scheme a bit. Wasn't a fan of the old one's nozzle, reminded me too much of the backburner.
It's based slightly off of this:

How about changing that stock to look more like the one in the photos? I think it would still fit the animations.

Yeah, what pfysicyst said, the grip could look more like a rifle stock and still fit the anims quite well, with or without a trigger guard, but otherwise I really like where this is going.
