the method to get it paintable just seems like a hassle. the outcome looks pretty tacky and cheap [ Flat. day-glow colour like the medic Halloween backpack ]
And all in all it just feels like there's too much gimmickry being forced onto the item.
So we'll fix up the texture. flickering. and busted version of the sign. and that'll be it

I'd say those colors look too close to the original shotgun's colors.
TF2 these days heavily relies on colors for recognition, especially from afar, that's why you won't see a Heavy from afar and ask yourself, "Is he using the Tomislav or the Brass Beast?" Their color palettes are drastically different.
I would say this shotgun should try out colors an ingame shotgun hasn't tried yet.

Have you a non-16 bit pyroland version? It seems to make projectiles dark and hard to see for me.

the stock shotgun is far more blue i think but this more yellow tone might make it stand out better

It's a shame they don't use the fixes uploaded to the workshop more often. I really want the fixes to the Hazmat and the Bonk Boy (that also makes it paintable) for example.

Sadly I can see half and half happening. They would fix the hazmat, but they would do the fix themselves. They won't fix the Bonk boy because they like keeping hats ugly looking.

They really should allow the community to help them more. I mean... my first though when Ayes Def said that his apron had tons of jigglebones, was "oh shit, those are going to take a lot of time to fix when Valve inexplicably fucks them up" :v:

The bonk boy shading issue comes from the material, not sure if I or Valve messed it up back then.
Either way, I re-modeled it with more polygons(since the poly limit went from 600 tris to 1000 for hats/miscs) and while I was at it made it paintable.
I think that perhaps they just don't want to change the model, so I'll just resubmit (hidden) a fixed and paintable material/texture.
Can I get something to texture? Even if item with my texture would not hit to the workshop I would be happy.
I just want to apear in a world of contributors.
