Too blocky right now. Don't you dare start rambling on about optimization, let LODs do all the work. It needs to look good in first person.

No offense, but the hexagonal bullet hole just looks bad.

Western-era rifles always had either round or octagonal barrels, I don't think I've ever heard of a single firearm with a hexagonal barrel.
Seeing how it's a lever action wouldn't it be better for scout?

Depends. Which class and which color sceme are you going for? As it looks now, it could be some kind of police helmet, some kind of biking helmet or some kind of helicopter pilot helmet. I have no idea what kind of details would be appropriate to suggest.
