It'd probably be a good idea to make the glasses and headphones separate with the glasses as a misc and the headphones as a hat.
Then if it gets ingame, it would be in as 2 items and wouldn't clip with all the hats or you could wear a different glasses misc with it. Also, what would be paintable on the glasses if it's going to be paintable? The rim or the lenses?
My new spray. Thanks.

I was being impulsive when I made it. Use it however you like.

Killicons and backpack image done by the wonderful Lime Dragon.
Killicons haven't had bullets for a long time, also the muzzleflash is the wrong colour (also too detailed and tiny imo)

Since Jet Set Radio HD is getting on Steam this summer, I thought why not remake that old hat?
and it's been almost exactly a year since I made it.

You should do combo's skates, hat and necklace for Demo.

Meh, they're small details that aren't exactly needed in the first place. Will make note of that on my next mod though.

Yeah they're gonna be separate. And I'd make the lenses paintable. Anyway I'm not sure I'll be able to make them look not awkward.
I'll upload them to the Workshop once I'm done but I'm not sure what to expect, am I supposed to contact Sega first or what? I wouldn't want them to be marked incompatible.

What I suggest is that you upload them to the workshop unlisted, send the URLs to Sega (likely marketing manager) and explain what you're going for and what they're for. If you get an approval, publicly list them with the important note of Sega being alright with it --also have Sega contact valve on your behalf with said URLs.
It's not an official way of going about it, but it's likely the best.

Okay, so I'm trying to import textures for a mesh from Super Mario Sunshine. Here is the entirety of Delfino Airstrip (below).

Now, while I can successfully import the entire mesh into Source, I can't get a single texture to take. The SMD currently has the texture names AS THEY OUGHT TO BE or so I think
Here's a small excerpt of the SMD in text form.

It has this listed all the way down, occasionally changing for when it needs new textures (such as ss02.tga, ss03.tga, etc)
Now then, I take the TGA files and I turn them into vtf files with the same names, and create a corresponding VMT.
Currently, the Qc has the following line for materials, that being. "$cdmaterials "/custom""
I assume this means it looks in tf/materials/custom/ for any and all textures
Now then, as a test, I setup map.ss01.vtf, with a corresponding VMT generated by VTF edit (map.ss01.vmt) with the following.
"LightmappedGeneric"
{
"$basetexture" "custom/map.SS01"
"$translucent" 1
}
Regardless, I still get checkerboard. any ideas as to why this may be?

As for the model, it's genius.

Supposedly teamcolored pistols weren't working, so he chose one style and stuck with it.

What game master said. I just went with pistol blue and made the purity seal red like it should be.

Your $cdmaterials should be "custom/"
The smd triangles material look fine, I'd say try replacing the dot in the middle of the material names by an underscore like so: "map_ss01.vtf" don't forget to edit your VMT aswell.

It looks zero like the HL1 Rocket Launcher. It's from Quake.

Then why not make a neutral colored version? It's what I had to do with the "Spy's Great Disguise" minigun. It seems like the most reasonable solution, rather than having clashing team colors on an item with team colors that don't work.

I went with a color that is canon because it seems better. Also, it's a pistol and the actual red is smaller than the spys hand so I see no real problem.
