Animated the scope caps, I won't jiggle bone them. I need to make minor changes to the draw animation and finish the texture.
Maybe you should make a play on the smiley face crotch taunt.

Jesus christ, nice work.
Kibble wanted me to post this for him. He can't due to a tornado.

Supposed to be a flintlock/blunderbuss inspired flare gun replacment. Idea is up gor grabs, contact on steam if interested.
Haven't really been super motivated recently but I made this. Heavy WIP, based on a Striker shotgun.

Also, nobody wants to texture this? :( Goin in the scrapped folder it is then
Has this been done? If not does anyone want to texture this? :D
And in case anyone is curious the apron is rigged.

Smiley Face Boxers?
Disgusting. Bodygroups like the metal hand that only works for the Deus Ex arm, and the fact that they showed it working properly in the promo material... that's really bad. It would also open a lot of modding potential, unlike shitty bodygroups they've added such as the tiny dogtags one.
[editline]30th June 2012[/editline]
Also they could COMPLETELY negate the performance issue by removing redundant bodygroups such as the Soldier's medal one, and the Sniper's arrow/dart ones, they could easily just load a new model. Bodygroups should only exist where absolutely necessary, to lop off legs and heads and such. No adding geometry.
You should email valve and tell them this. They're all very rational points, they might just not have thought about it.

Fucking smart!
I'd just go with some darker lines for the tartan pattern, maybe a few yellow ones
and maybe increase the team coloring a bit towards team spirit brightness, seeing how his pants are closer to it in the area where the kilt is.
A slight gradient might also be neat
Oh, and i hpe you intend to give it a nomalmap, kilts usually have pleats in the back
also how well does it play with his feet items?
[editline]30th June 2012[/editline]
The Outback Intellectual already does that with its paintability, so what's wrong with another item doing it? :v:
I guess the ":v:" means your joking but the outback intelligence barely covers up any team colors, and before I got working on it it was lab coat colored which was a lot less clear
[editline]30th June 2012[/editline]
I assuem its because they added th elumberjack shirt and heavy shirt body group.
that doesn't use any bodygroup it just neatly goes on top of his regular model .

overkill I'd say, it just happening to look like boxers is enough for the few moments you'd see under his kilt

Another idea I thought of.
I call it "The Cautious Charade", it's a more ragged fabric cap than the other caps with a small pen sized torch, taped on mustache is optional.

Socks seem too high. Hopefully valve would do a bodygroup for it.
another good thing is that the proportions and all are similar to the concept demo kilt

I was wondering yesterday if the community (and by community I mean you all, facepunch emporium), would be up to do another fan-made update like the Medieval one or The Night Of The Living Update.
I personally haven't entered the first one (I wasn't modding at that time) but I recall the Halloween one being very cool.
I have hard time to explain myself but I more or less ask if you'd be motivated for something of that kind :L

Obviously it would depend on the theme whether or not I would want to join but I'd be up for it
Perhaps I could redeem myself for my last two piece-of-shit entries

I demand a robotic update, with the theme of cybernetic implants and robot-related items in honor of Tobor.
Mostly because I have an obsession with robotic prosthetics and implants and shit

If you haven't come up with a theme yet I'd suggest a Summer Blockbuster theme. Items based off of famous movies and stuff.
It'd be neat to do a summer one, especially before the Summer Sale. (Which I think is slated for the 12th? I'm not sure).
Anyhow, even if we can't make it, it'd still be fun.
Also, did you ever get anywhere with jigglebones on that rig, lemonade?
I'm thinking now would be a good time to start thinking about halloween stuff
Night of the Living Update Mk. II?

No I didn't, but you can fix it yourself. Just rotate each of the jigglebones so that they're pointing down. You have them pointing up right now.

What's considered down? Is it the player model's feet, relative to origin?

I was actually going to start the classic update today, but smash man was too busy with sfm to update the web pages so it'll have to wait until tomorrow
Also Quick question: the scope reflections in pyroland show the real world, any way to change this?
Nope, this is impossible. They're done using the maps's cubemaps which you cant change as once made they are packed into the .bsp itself

I'd want the people who did it the last time to do it, I think it was Populas and someone else.
Also i think we should actually make a petition to get this bodygroup stuff sorted out. Or at least a mock email made for everyone to copy/paste to the TF2team

Sci-fi Horror anyone?
Night of the Living Update 2: No one can hear you scream in hammer space
Night of the Living Update 2: They came from Pyroland
Night of the Living Update 2: Invasion of the Hat Snatchers
Night of the Living Update 2: Attack of the 50 Foot Pyro

I've thought about this and it still makes sense to me, that ALL bodygroups could be removed, and replaced with seperate model versions... For example Soldier would have no helmet on by default, and a new hat would appear in items/soldier/ called soldier_defaulthelmet.mdl. This hat would of course be loaded on any Soldier not wearing a hat, and items like the Sash/Mining Light could simply load two models at once, like the Quick Fix does. This seems like it would solve everything. I emailed Valve about it ages ago but got no response.
that's how styles with minor model changes work now anyway, so it's familiar to them.
It would also fix all the weird bodygroup on/off issues.
But stuff like Heavy's fists will always need bodygroups, and also that solution doesn't solve the problem of needing multiple groups on at the same time.
