Oh man listdeath, that clue
Hot damn, the story's finally gonna address the respawning I think!
I'm feeling like
70% sure
but I can't help but be excited enough to convince myself it's 100% gonna happen
Tonight's the night
Mmm, nah. I expect an update the 25th (Day 1).
Mann vs Machine on the way? That's what the hype seems to be about, but I thought someone disproved that?
The video begins with a hand writing in a journal, he narrates, a mild british accent.
"May 12, 1889: Today Linda and I took an amazing walk around the park. One day soon, when the time is right, I hope to make her my bride"
"June 23, 1889: Linda fell down the stairs today. We don't know what happened, she just passed out as she was walking down. I'm nervous for her health, I must protect her!"
"August 12, 1889: Linda's health continues to fail. She's bed ridden, unable to speak much. She's stopped eating. I don't know what to do..."
"October 14, 1889: The doctors say Linda probably won't make it to the new year. I don't know what to do. I'm trapped. I'll do anything. ANYTHING to save her. I must have her. She must live. Anything"
"November 2, 1889: I was picking up Linda's medicine when I found a quaint lighter on the ground. It had such a unique design on it. I must show Linda, maybe it'll make her smile"
"November 5, 1889: I've finally found something to cheer Linda up! I've managed to find a way to move the fire dance the lighter using various slights of hands and some chemicals. The tricks make her laugh, and that's all I can ask for."
"December 17, 1889: I accidentally dropped the lighter while doing a trick today and burned a bit of Linda's blanket. Gave us quite a scare, but I have to say, something about it was... mystical. I can't quite describe this feeling, but watching the fire move through the blanket, without regard for anything or anyone..."
"January 23, 1890: Linda has officially made it past the date the doctor's gave her. I'm very proud of her! My flame tricks must have lifted her spirit! I must learn some new tricks for her"
"February 12, 1890: I put out an ad today for anything at all that could save Linda. Despite making it past the new year, it's clear to me she's not long for this world. I must do anything to keep her by my side! My dear Linda, there must be something in this world I can do to help you"
"March 1, 1890: I got a mysterious letter in the mail today from America. "We know you "skill" and we want it. Work for us, name your price. Money, weapons, fame? What do you want. Contact me, REDmond" I don't know if I should reply. But I'm desperate. Oh Linda, what should I do!"
"March 5, 1890: I decided to write back to this mysterious letter sender. I need help. I need Linda. I need... Linda. I need..."
"March 30, 1890: I got my first assignment. If I complete this, they say they can help Linda. I will do this. I have to do this."
"April 2, 1890: I was told to burn down a barn full of supplies. I'm not sure what the supplies are, I don't want to ask questions. This will help Linda, I will do this."
"April 6, 1890: I killed a man today"
"April 16, 1890: The machine came today for Linda. They helped me hook it up. Linda hasn't seem happier. She might actually have a chance!"
"May 1, 1890: I woke to flashing lights and Linda screaming in pain. I don't know what happened. Linda won't talk about it. The machine seems to be working fine."
"May 15, 1890: I got a letter with my next assignment. They told me if I don't do it, they'll shut down Linda's machine. They said they have ways. I don't want to take the risk"
"May 16, 1890: I got a package today from a "Mann and Sons Trading." The box has an peculiar weapon in it, a large axe, and a mask. Apparently this is my uniform. I also have to wear red. I don't know why."
"May 20, 1890: I burned down more buildings today. Only 2 of them were for my assignment. I don't know what came over me. This... this weapon. It shoots fire like I've never seen! I feel compelled... no... no... I'm doing this for Linda"
"June 14, 1890: I'm having odd dreams. I only see fire. I wake up sweating. What's happening to me?"
"June 19, 1890: Linda woke up screaming again. I don't know what it is. That machine is hurting her. I don't know what to do. I'm afraid. So afraid. Why is this happening"
"August 23, 1890: There is no more soho. It's gone. Poof. Goodbye. Ha... ha..."
"Spmtem 14, 1890: the lights... wooo... lights..."
"de9 90: Burn... burn... burn... fire... fire... fire... "
The rest of the pages are singed and burned. The camera pans back, as we see Pyro reading the journal. He stares blankly at the camera, picks up his Backburner, and runs out to 2Fort and we get a short reel of Pyro burning classes. The normal ending flourish is not played, simple music box styled music plays. The ending zooms slowly on the journal, a picture falls out of it. Half the picture is burned to a crisp, the other, a beautiful woman.
...And Linda is..

I... what... err

I just made a name that vaguely sounded like Nora.
It's a bit dark for TF2 methinks.

You do realize you made Pyro about 60+ in your Meet The video to the date tf2 takes place?
I really doubt they will let us hear Pyro's unmuffled voice.
And from how the last few Meet The videos went, it will be more action oriented than an interview with the Pyro.

I don't see why Pyro can't be over 60.
[Ned amazing story]
It's amazing! I love it. Would fit the character a lot.
His attachment to Linda might explain the purse? (Too bad it's not official!)
Otherwise, very nicely done. I loved it.

It keeps happening to me!
3 lints, 2 planks
I'm on a rolllllllllll
Story.
But if the Pyro were British he wouldn't write the dates in his journal in the M/D/Y format like Americans do. He'd write it in D/M/Y. Also the Pyro would have to be over 79 years old, assuming the earliest part of the story didn't happen when he was an infant. :v:
Also that's kinda uncharacteristically dark for a Meet the Team video...
just a heads-up
the descriptions come from The Adventure of the Copper Beeches
indignation among the neighbours, and then the whole machinery of justice is ever so close that a word of complaint can set it going, and there is but a step between the crime and the dock. But look at these lonely houses, each in its own fields, filled for the most part with poor ignorant folk who know little of the law. Think of the deeds of hellish cruelty, the hidden wickedness which may go on, year in, year out, in such places, and none the wiser. Had this lady who appeals to us for help gone to live in Winchester, I should never have had a fear for her. It is the five miles of country which makes the danger. Still, it is clear that she is not personally threatened."
Perfect! I have a clean (and craftnumberless) Nine Pipe and Private Eye! Now for a Journal...

what
why do I keep reading about nine pipes and private eyes
do you get them with that crap or something

Wearing that set allows you to see the new descriptions which is where the Sherlocke Holmes quote is coming from.

The private eye is a typical Sherlock Holmes-style multiclass hat that forms the Eliminating the Impossible set when worn with the Nine-Pipe Problem, a set of glasses and a pipe for Medic. The set bonus is, or rather was purely cosmetic, but as said before you get to see new descriptions on the garbage items with them equipped.
Hah, that's really clever :v:
listdeath exploit isn't patched, accidentally took down a server with it.

Just to make a point here, Valve's been updating TF2 everyday this week. if they keep this up, friday will be the 300th update. friday is ALSO the anniversary of the Uber Update. Remember when Valve announced a 'Secret' TF2 project along with meet the pyro? i think all this has something to do with one or the other. or both

Holy shit, it's been a year since the Uber update? Damn man.

Actually the Uber Update was on June 23 2011. Friday is the 22nd. :v:
Actually the Uber Update was on June 23 2011. Friday is the 22nd. :v:
well, the uber update took 4 days, so if it started tomorrow, that would make the 1 year anniversary the middle of the update, which is usually when the big stuff comes out. i guarantee that all this has something to do with the fact that its been a year since the last major update, its been a year since 'Meet the Medic', and the 300th update is coming up. the official update count on the wiki is 298. were real close
I don't see why Pyro can't be over 60.
I do.

You see, my grandma was a vital woman, but I can't imagine her pulling off shit like this. On daily basis.
on a related note, idk why everyone seems to think the pyro is 70 something years old, but the whole eliminate the impossible set thing may have an entirely different explaination. obviously, the medic is dressed up like a detective, sherlock holmes. its a hint that all these random items and shit may be clues. we have to figure it out. plus the quote sound like something about the pyro, burning things and all.
Is the pyro Irene Adler? 0-0
