So what's the deal, you can craft ashes to make scorched crates, but what happens when you use a single ash as an action item?

I was wondering if they'd include the Rainbow flamethrower.
I thought it would be a goofy new flamethrower with silly stats like
-50% damage
25% chance to cause enemy to burst into laughter

The new map is insanely fun. The rounds are quick, but it's a lot of action. They might need to mess with the respawn timer a bit, but overall it's excellent. The atmosphere is also quite nice.

If you craft 4 ashes, and use the pile of ash, you get a crate AND there is also a chance of getting an item too?
Can you toggle pyrovision on the goggles?
Got the Spy suit, Strange Rainblower/Strange lolichop, the parrot, the sniper hat, the rocket launcher, the tin cans, and ALL scout items.
