I'm late as a bean. Sorry lads.
Wow you guys are dumb, that's a balloonicorn not a pony
What Pyro sees.

Time to prepare for the Team Fortress movie.
People are expecting way too much from Valve. That's the curse I guess for making so many good things in a row. When you make something not what they expect, change it up a bit now and then, do what they don't expect, they get butthurt and mad.
Yeah. Seems like a few got their expectations a bit too high.
The more I rewatch Meet The Pyro, the more I find I'm liking it, and I liked it when I first watched it. While it might not reveal anything we didn't know before, but if you were expecting that, well then I'm sorry for you.
I think that the disappointment stems from the fact that alot of players already kind of had a suspicion Meet the Pyro would play out like this (I.E Pyro not really understanding what he/she's doing), but I think the execution was more or less perfect.
What really makes this video are the kick ass scenes when it flashed back to reality. I especially love how it ends seeing the Happy Pyro World in the massive hole in the solider, it was some really cool framing.
I'm sad now, no more Meet the Team videos, it almost feels like the last big hurrah of TF2. Not that the game and the community are going anywhere soon, but it feels like we've got everything we wanted when Valve first released the game (Referring to Class Updates and Videos).
I didn't really like mtp, sorry.
Maybe it's the edgy grimdark teen inside of me talking, but I liked the ambient the first part of the video/real world part of the video had. The other part looked like Valve was appealing to the non-serious crowd which, I guess, outnumbers the other part of the TF2 playing community now. I realize comedy is a part of Meet the videos, but if you look at the first 8 videos, they feature a different kind of comedy, a kind that I liked.
Here's how I would change MTP, if I ever could (This is my personal opinion, don't get your panties in a bunch), maybe it can help everyone understand why I didn't find it funny:
Instead of a fantasy world, pyro is imagining he is a fireman, holding a fire-hose, and the whole world is on fire. He wants to help everyone and he wants to put the fire out. See, you're still keeping the core of the joke, but executing it in a different way. You're taking on the comedy aspect with a little more seriousness (If that makes any sense), and less simple-minded, sitcom tier jokes.
So did anyone else watch the Source Filmmaker video yet?
Holy shit, I can't wait to get my hands on that. GMOD, eat your heart out

You never know, with Valve...in the Filmmaker video, you literally hear them saying they are professional film makers. They might make a full-lenght movie.
No, I really don't think you understand how bad this video really is.
You really have nothing better to do with your time, do you?
damn it playing TF2 is going to suck when this update hits
my favourite class is Spy
When the scout knocks the camera over in his interview, any ideas what that thing is you see for a second before it cuts away.
late, but
>Includes TF2 item code.
I seriously hope they're not considering to put this thing in-game. Hopefully it's a code that will get you a MtP bundle with all the new weapons in this update or something.
Well, that bundle is still rainbow-y gunk.

As long as you don't shove it in everyone's throat like Strongbad did, it's alright.
And hell, I like your idea.
I don't see why people are so disappointed, honestly. Personally, I found it pretty frickin' hilarious and and while we didn't see the pyro's identity, that doesn't make it any less a bad animation does it?
There were brand new models, what are most likely going to be new weapons, a look into pyro's inner thoughts, and even some hilarious reactions from the team.
And assuming the robot chicken hat is the only thing is pretty ignorant considering there's no way they'd work together all that long just to produce a single hat, knowing valve it's probably like a promo item, say a promo item for something else adult swim related coming in the future. Sure, you can't prove that's the case, but you can't prove that it isn't either, can you?
Then you'll be the first to know when we have MORE new stuff coming down the ol' Steam pipe-hole... Because this ain't the last you'll hear from Adult Swim and Valve. Stay tuned.
[sp]Also in case anyone's thought this: Saying this is catering to mlp fans because there's rainbow stuff is literally just as bad as mlp fans thinking it's catering to them because there's rainbow stuff, think about it.[/sp]
I may be late on some of this, I'm posting after a friend linked me to what I assume is a few pages ago at least.
damn it playing TF2 is going to suck when this update hits

Considering the uproar, there may be fewer pyros than ever.
So day 3 update comes out today or tommorow?

This is TF2. Not Call of Duty.
From day one it was dark(if not sometimes silly) humor against a whimsical, war-torn backdrop. Exactly what we got in MtP.
So day 3 update comes out today or tommorow?
Later today

Well on here it says "Includes a code for a unique in game cosmetic item".
So I am going to assume that the unique item is indeed the unicorn.
It would make sense anyway.

This, now they just want to ruin tf2 even more with the rainbow bullshit.

I basically agree with this. My one objection would be that the long funworld sequence towards the end could have been broken up a bit. Because MtP only deals with the pryo/spy antagonism in one direction, they could have filled it with something like the pyro playing "hide and seek" with the blue spy. We see the spy cornered and hiding, then the pyro moves on, blocking our view - but we do see the flames. Slow zoom into the pyro's vision, and we see the spy being tickled by flowers and such... Anyway,
I'm still pretty happy with MtP. The class is my main and I worried that if it didn't precisely satisfy what I wanted out of the video, I'd never be able to get over it.
They haven't updated the Pyro button on the Movies page apparently.

Talk about overreacting. It's a fucking game, a game that's always been cartoony and fun. Since the day it was released.
