This is so cool. Awesome idea!
I spent the last hour researching this bug that some people have experienced and have reported (painfully with a 1 star rating) and just pushed out an update that will hopefully remedy it. It'll take ~2 hours before it'll get approved by Google.
It sucks seeing all those people complain and I feel as if I have one hand tied behind my back because all I can do is guess and do (a lot) of googling to figure out what's causing the issue. I would be grateful if you guys can leave an unbiased, honest rating/review on the Google Play page.
The more feedback I get, the more I know about what issues are affecting which phones. In a sense, you guys are the testers since I can only test the app on my phone. Having the app work without any issues on my phone is great for me, but bad for you guys since I'm oblivious to the bugs that are affecting everyone else.
If only it was for IOS...

with retina support!
Found the easter egg class :v:
You probably should disable the adds, cause now you're making money from Valve/community made items. I don't think that's legal.
It originally didn't have ads, but I saw the other TF2 apps out there had an advertisement banner on the bottom so I did the same.
I've spent the last 2 weeks working on this and have been pushing out an update every night, not to mention losing hairs trying to debug phones over the Internet and hoping the next update will fix whatever obscure issue their obscure phone has.
I see it as getting a little something back for my time and efforts. Though, I can see your point. And it's not like I'm getting rich over this. No way. I haven't even made enough to buy a game on Steam yet, even after the Kotaku publicity.
But if Valve starts complaining, I'll promptly remove the ads.
Here is my backpack: http://www.tf2items.com/id/hyzzy
Take a look around and if there's a weapon you want to see, just make a post. If it's something I can do, I'll put it in the app!
(And while I'm here...I'm also buying a strange grenade launcher for my own personal use)
P.S. - New Update
Ver. 2.0.2

-Fixed oversized weapons appearing in screenshots of smaller phones

2.0.3 is up.
I tried adding Jarate, but I couldn't get the splash to look right. It would've been really really ugly.

Is not possible. I say it as IT technican. This will require more than one low-pix camera

Is possible. I say it as a developer.
Android has facial recognition built-in. It's just not activated on pre-4.0 devices I believe, so it won't be worth my time to implement if it'll only work on a small number of devices.

But how would you implement recognition of people's heads when they are turned backwards?
You can recognize a human silhouette with more than just a face anyway.

prepare to eat your words when he succeeds in implementing it ~
It is possible to be done. There's an API for it. I'm not going to do it though because only ICS supports it.
Also, I just put in some commonly requested weapons.
Ver 2.0.4
-Increased size of ammo counter on lower resolution phones
-Added Engineer's Lugermorph
-Added Spy's Diamondback
-Added Pyro's Homewrecker
One of my buddies just told me about this app. Great work its really fun and runs well on my Sidekick 4G.
This is my new favorite Android app. Great job on this, dude. My only complaint is that there's been some problems with the speed of the app and the viewmodel should probably be a bit bigger for tablets.
Gave it 5 stars in the Play Store. Keep up the good work!
pretty hilarious, but the viewmodels are a bit small on my note
