In all seriousness, though, not having English as my first language makes me somewhat self-conscious about my grasp of the subtler nuance. Therefore, I have adopted an exaggeratedly stilted and formal use of language, hoping that any actual errors are masked by the intentional self-irony. As such, I tend to use thesaurian terms without much reflection.
