I still don't get how my suggestion is "broken".
I actually don't know if you can have paint and transparency on the same object
[editline]28th March 2012[/editline]
Looks like it though, since Lexar made the Aspect paintable.
Just in black it makes it totally invisible, but for that item it won't matter. You'd have to ask him how he did it.
Currently it's impossible as you can't tell paint(?) or translucent to use a different vtf for the alpha.
But then again if he managed it... I'll have to look into this.
[editline]28th March 2012[/editline]
Ah Lexar is using $additive not $translucent.

Actually I may have just been seeing things, but now that I look at it it looks fine.
Other than the flamethrower appearing on top of it
With $additive instead of $translucent
[thumb]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/32006613/Models/potion_setup_5.png[/thumb]
I know I said 7 but I was forgetting that the potions were team colored, so it's actually 10
If you want to use $additive you'll need to tweak the texture - Black is invisible, white makes it solid white (as depicted), try looking at the Jarate bottle texture for an example texture.
Quick question which is better out of the two:
So uh... does anyone know how to fix a corrupted .PSD file?
[t]http://dl.dropbox.com/u/32066954/brokenpsd.png[/t]
(In the Photoshop thumbnail, it'll show the uncorrupted file, but as soon as I open it, it becomes this... Giygas)
Because if you do, you'd really be saving my hide, right now. (Also you'll be saving the 300+ Shugo Icons I have on there...)
post the psd(s)

This reminds me of a story I heard about a game developer having to discontinue their game because they didn't store any backups of it. Hopefully you did store backups
were they all on one psd?
Yes, except for the icons that Ragnar has made, but his .PSD is still intact.
I don't remember is XP has windows backup but right click the psd, go to properties and see if there is a "previous versions" tab or some such option

Unfortunately not. I'll be upgrading to Windows 7 by the end of the week, so I'll make sure to keep note of that. (Also actually backing my stuff up)
also if you can find a .tmp use this

Awesome ! Do you have the vector files ?
Everything is vectored, just started painting them in and painting over it.
Still need to clean up a whole lot of the vector lines and draw new things.
Shouldn't have started on the details really. :v:

Have you tried compiling the model with the vials with $mostlyopaque (this goes in the QC)? You should try this with the whole object using one VMT.

I have not tried this yet. I will try it later

I think they didn't put any effort because it's 3 hats no one will ever see. Seriously these will be rarer than unusuals (when they just came out. Shits everywhere now.)

you do realize that most misc/hats don't have brush strokes because the player models don't either?

No change. But I did notice it makes an interesting effect on the player's arm (probably not related):
