I look at every kind of object and think "How could this be a hat?"
Oh, I know! By placing it on your head!

red stuff is new
Okay, so I'm trying to make multiple textures for this item and for some reason, I can't get the blue skin to load on Skin 2. In my QC, I have
$texturegroup skinfamilies { { "XXXX.vmt" } { "XXXX_blue.vmt" } }
The red VMT points to the right texture, as does the blue one--but whenever I switch to Skin 2 in HLMV, it will not change to the blue skin. I do not know why. (And no, I didn't save the red texture over the blue vtf)
red stuff is new
What's the point of the fan?
What's the point of the fan?
Clearly it makes the rockets go faster.
What's the point of the fan?
some guy made a concept called the phantom, on the pageking of page 12. IDK really. here it is without
Thats a common bug, just "unload weapon"
Thanks. That's what it was. I'll be posting screenies in a minute to show the item off.
What's the point of the fan?
to remove the smoke trail making it hard to tell where the shot came from?
What's the point of the fan?
To cool the Soldier off on the battlefield. What else would it be used for?
IMO it would be awesome if the fan let you glide up in one short burst. It would be pretty much like rocketjumping, except it wouldn't hurt.
To cool the Soldier off on the battlefield. What else would it be used for?
Underlining how much of a nutjob the Soldier is maybe. :v:
What's the point of the fan?
Well I made the concept thinking it was something that the soldier would do. Hypothetically, it would make the rokets faster, stronger, and give them a directional splash damage
Told ya.

Get my bat.
Alright, so a friend of mine wanted to try modeling an item for TF2--but hasn't the faintest of how to work in Source. So, I pitched him this item and told him I'm help him out. He decided he wanted to redo textures since this shot, but nonetheless, I thought it was coming along nicely.
wouldn't the magnet draw that electrical cable towards it? seems odd to place it there
wouldn't the magnet draw that electrical cable towards it? seems odd to place it there
Not all metals are ferromagnetic.
There was no other place to really place it so that it'd work well. I'm going to try to send an email off to see if the cable can be turned into a toggleable bodygroup*. If that doesn't go--I can use the classic TF2 concept that not everything makes sense. Soldier has a metal sound when he hits himself in the head, even if he wears a cloth hat. Or Drury can save my ass. Damn ninjas. Also, it is rather oversized, so it could just be a prop--doesn't have to actually be magnetized.
I don't think anybody gets it, I think the fan is supposed to make that awesome robot-y 'zzzzz' sound for the rocket like when you talk into a fan.
if the cable can be turned into a toggleable viewmodel.
Don't you mean bodygroup? I don't think you'd want to see the cable in the view.
Tried it with a knife oh god someone call an ambulance
?
Don't you mean bodygroup? I don't think you'd want to see the cable in the view.
Derp, I do. My bad.
Not the best UV mapping ever, but hey, I'm learning. :v: Also, little question about ambient occlusion, how do you guys take care of moving parts which aren't always occluded? Like those: It obviously looks bad and I don't really know where to start to fix that. I guess it involves baking AO for each moving part separately and then assembling everything together, or something like that, but I'm not sure. Any help?
I don't think anybody gets it, I think the fan is supposed to make that awesome robot-y 'zzzzz' sound for the rocket like when you talk into a fan.
I've never tried talking into a fan.
?
how did you get that picture of me where are you hiding in my room
