What if you make a version of the hazmat with the pyros head still inside or peeking out of the visor (broken or removed?)
Transparent visor?
I feel angry for you guys. Valve just seriously limited how creative you can get just because of some minor issues.
Making a bonesaw for medic which is literally made of bones. Edit: postponed until I figure out how to model a bone :v:
Remade the texture to hopefully avoid copyright issues.

And maybe remove the lenses, mustache and pipe, or make it a misc?

Okay, I reduced the overall size of the gun a bit so it takes a bit less space in the viewmodel. Ignore the bad AO, I didn't re-bake it. A simple and straightforward way would be to remove the two bottom support beams, but I don't think it's a very elegant solution. I could also move the front part including the barrels up a bit but I'm afraid that would take up more space on the viewmodel again.

Did some work on the pockets: Any suggestions, crits?
It's still too big in my opinion...
I can't do much better than that without scrapping the whole idea. The smaller I make the barrels, the longer they'll need to be for the Demoman to hold it correctly. Unless I find a way to push the support ring that holds the ironsight all the way to the back, but that would look odd.
remove the support beam(s?) that clip and make it look like it was torn apart voluntarily.
I thought about doing that, but that wouldn't make much sense. If it was a Heavy weapon then it would be understandable because the Heavy has particularly big hands. But no one but the Demoman would use a grenade launcher so it would make no sense to give him one that he can't hold without breaking it.
remove the support beam(s?) that clip and make it look like it was torn apart voluntarily.
But then he would hold the barrels, and those are supposed to spin when firing. No, removing beams wouldn't work.
Holy shit, awesome as fuck render. What did you render this with?
It´s a software called "marmoset toolbag".
But otherwise, this size is good when you compare it to default pill launcher. [thumb]http://uppix.net/a/6/b/ae8106dcfbbdab8121a4fa5ff480d.jpg[/thumb]
But then he would hold the barrels, and those are supposed to spin when firing. No, removing beams wouldn't work.
But they don't spin, in the end. And it doesn't look that bad. Plus, if they could really spin, they would only momentarily clip with Demo's thumb, and that would be barely noticeable. And you don't even see it in the viewmodel. I guess I'll stick with that for now, make a texture, release everything, work on something else, and come back to this one later if people actually turn out to like it.
Yea, but that requires a huge update to move a game to an updated engine. Huger than I think Valve is willing to release (it'll certainly go over the 500mb cap they have for TF2 updates)
So what you do is either warn people beforehand that the big update is coming, or slice the new engine into chunks and distribute it in smaller updates, mentioning it as scrambled gobbledygook in the update notes until you finally put it together and install it in a bigger update.
This reminds me, does anyone know where I can find that TF2 gamemode for Gmod?
I made a new thread here: http://facepunch.com/threads/1163113 It requires a bunch of features that were added in the beta, that's why I'm waiting for said beta to become available to everyone before releasing it.
Been modelling for about 4-5 days, managed to get this far on a WIP engy weapon: hwo 2 artstyle????

[t]http://vladsgadgets.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Bosch_IXO_III_Cordless_Screwdriver_set_with_Torque_Adapter_and_Angle_Driver.jpg[/t] This looks nice and gun shaped enough.
Any advices, how to make it a little bit less shiny? And remove shines from cloth piece?

The top half of the mask feels bland. But that's really cool. Great job!
Perhaps change up the eyes a bit. The top half of the mask feels bland. But that's really cool. Great job!
The item doesn't replace the mask. It just adds an attachment to the front of the default pyro mask.
