HEAVY FORTRESS 2
make it so.
"Too expensive to implement" ololol
I think someone should make an actual Spy submodel which has the torso removed and then submit that to the workshop. Would it be too expensive then?
I don't think you understand
To be honest, I really don't.
make it so.
Not before Dragon Fortress 2
Skin by Blaholtzen/Badgerpig. I ported and scaled/rigged models from the Scout to Heavy. Surprisingly, the hat didn't need to be scaled up at all. EDIT: Isn't actually finished yet, is going to be used in a... project.
When you finish this, make Soldier Heavy.
Medic heavy.
I think someone should make an actual Spy submodel which has the torso removed and then submit that to the workshop. Would it be too expensive then?
it's not... expensive in terms of money needed to make it. Expensive here refers to the GPU/CPU power needed to render it, and how much of a tax it takes on fps. In this case, Bodygroups take a pretty big toll on them, much larger than they original thought and there's no way they could implement the stylish spy without a bodygroup.
Just put every single class' attire on every single other class. That's a total of like 72 new models. Worth it
Needs some opinions please gentlemen- to sticker, or not to sticker? It would be nice to have the decal version as a style, but I'm not sure yet if that is possible...
it's not possible well... it's possible I guess, but it would mean you could apply decals to the non-decal style and it would still show up as decaled, but it wouldn't show any change.
*skateboard* Needs some opinions please gentlemen- to sticker, or not to sticker? It would be nice to have the decal version as a style, but I'm not sure yet if that is possible...
I do like both, but I think because the one with stickers looks more cluttered, it draws your attention away from the logo in the middle. Also I keep reading the top sticker as "Pube Juice". It's...not a nice image.
Just put every single class' attire on every single other class. That's a total of like 72 new models. Worth it
The thought of a Soldier Spy makes me happy.
Also a while ago i tried making a medic-soldier, gotta try redoing that
Yeah should probably point out that I obviously don't intend on using these branded logos, just getting a sense of scale and placement at this stage. I agree it does seem too cluttered, I just really like the idea of people being able to customize their board.

Constructor, I'm finished with the concept art of the axe and flamethrower for your set now. Well, sort of. I'm finished with the concept art of an axe and a flamethrower that look completely different from what you asked for but nevertheless look sort of cool. If you don't want them, I'll make new designs for you and leave these up for grabs. Sorry about the messy look. I'm out of ink pens, which meant I had to use a pencil, which meant I couldn't get rid of all the eraser crud in photoshop without messing up the lineart as well. [T]http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/2089/oldflame.png[/T] You may notice that the gas doesn't pass through the trigger handle on the flamethrower. This is because the trigger doesn't control any flow through the handle, but rather a covered valve mechanism attached to the pipe. The axe probably looks incredibly confusing. It's supposed to be an old-factory-style brake lever with three screwdrivers attached to the it. My google fu was too weak to find how such a brake mechanism is usually constructed, but I think you can just stick some funnily shaped plates in there and cover the rest with tape, like I did.
I'm kinda confused on the whole "budget" thing with bodygroups. cant they just cut and remove parts with the technology they already have? I mean they have MILLIONS just from people buying hats so can someone explain?

Putting it really simply, the more body-groups models have, the worse the game runs overall.

I mean they have MILLIONS just from people buying hats so can someone explain?

EXPENSIVE DOES NOT REFER TO MONEY
To remove and/or replace a section of a model (i.e. Engineer's hand, Pyro's head) a "bodygroup" is needed. In the earlier days of TF2, Valve was more willing to add bodygroups to player models. However, they are realizing now that bodygroups take up a lot of computing power (that's the expense they are speaking of) and are very wary of adding new bodygroups. This relates to how Valve is now pushing more for LODs and other ways to save power on older computers, since the game has grown to be larger.
Oh god now I totally wanna see a mod that replaces every team member with just the heavy in a different costume.

Custom grenade for my launcher. It has 968 triangles, which is three times more than the regular grenades but still less than a sticky bomb. I guess I can remove a few triangles from the red blinking part, not sure that will make a difference. But otherwise, does that look okay?
