To those who have gotten stuff in recently, does valve contact you shortly before adding it (less than 24 hours beforehand), more than a day beforehand, or after they add it?

That's... bad. Not the fact it's MLP, but the fact his knees are broken, his arms are weird, and so many other problems it hurts.

Anyway...on a different note. What do people think about a spotting scope/range finder for the sniper? Possibly on a tripod mounted on his head? Or perhaps as a melee weapon?

Scope and rail mount looks pretty cool but the front especially under the barrell looks kinda bulky. If they're thinking of adding it to the game, I'd imagine they would test it pretty thoroughly. On the other hand they hardly ever comment, except on a select few contributors items. (I've certainly never had a comment)

I've had comments and heard from friends that had comments almost at a weekly basis in the past months. I've had some of my work commented on because the lods i left in the files are just merely 20 tris smaller than the main lod (due mainly cuz of itemtest querks and me being lazy that way. Its a good way to gauge though if they really check the files.) One other way to know that they check the files is when you dont finalize your contributor shares. They can only check your files if the contributor shares are finalized. I've had myself and some friends contacted by valve asking to finalize the item so they can view the files. This shows that they look at items based on what catches their eye and then checking them out if they fit the requirements. Another magic number to look for is, according to a valve dev, 100 votes. If your item has at least 100 votes, it has surpassed the first pass. I know that's kinda lame but hey thats what the guy said.
Hey! I'm modelling some Dota 2 stuff again, but this time, I really want each of my items to meet a higher quality level (and not one out of three like I did when I was making them every days) So I spend the night working on Clockwerk's wrench (yeah, this time I am making a hero weapon instead of a shop item).
