I know you're trying to go for the TF2 texture style, but it looks like it was painted on, rather than being that material. Better than I could do, at any rate.
Animation looks good, but I agree that he should flick the barrel closed as well. It' still a long reload time even if he doesn't manually shut it. [highlight]Edit:[/highlight]You know, I take it back on the animation. It grew on me, and I like the slow reload. All I ask is that the upper part (as in farther to the side, the part that would be closer to the shoulder) not move so far out away from the player. It looks like an impossible angle to do. Also, I still stick by my claim that the gold Derringer with white-gold engravings and an ivory grip would be the best looking choice. :colbert: ALSO, how do you intend the Derringer to work in game? Is it like 2 powerful shots? Maybe like 2 slow, forceful shots that do 60 damage and ramp up to 100? (For reference, the [url=http://tf2wiki.net/wiki/Revolver]Revolver[/url] goes from 40 to 60) The slow reload time would mean a spy that a spy trying to make an escape after backstabbing would have one good burst to kill another enemy, but would then be in trouble if more people showed up, as he'd be caught reloading, with only his knife ready to use. The accuracy would be slightly less than the revolver, and nowhere near as good as the Ambassador, meaning it would be primarily a close range gun. He runs behind enemy lines and kills their medics and disturbs the enemy frontlines. When enemies get too personal he uses his speed to out run them, resupply and repeat.

With the FAN, you don't have to worry about dodging incoming fire while firing at them into order to get damage in while dodging their fire, you can just run up to them and bam, if they're any class that isn't a Heavy, they're dead.

It'd be cool if the Derringer got a custom taunt. The one I had in mind was the pose the Spy does in [URL="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9gv3XmD7-rk"]the first trailer[/URL], coupled with some of the match win responses like the revolver taunt. Speaking of that, Stylish Spy would look good with a Beta Spy skin.

You can't just spew pellets at the targets from medium range, you have to be close and personal. You have to dodge incoming fire to get close, unless you sneak behind them. Bullets that knock back and deal less damage would be more useful to push pursuers away from you while you cloak and run for safety rather than using it in offense. For that purpose the default revolver and ambassador are much better.

The Spy should just flip the barrel to close it instead of using his second arm. I mean, the way it currently is would look stupid when you hit reload and then cloak. Also, he should put the first bullet in and then the second without "hiding" his hand again. (I bet I'll get some clocks.)
