So guys, I came up with an idea I think is great, but I've gotten absolutely no responses at all so I don't know if it's great or if it sucks to everyone else. I named it the Whipcord, and decided it replaces the Engineer's shotgun.

I'll come up with some drawings later today, because I have to go. Remember that wrapped enemies can still shoot, since the cord goes around the shoulders. I thought it'd have a better chance of existing if Valve didn't have to make many new animations for it, so...shoulders.

the bullets are so close to the hinge they would probably fall out a bit and jam. remember, getting rid of casings isnt the same as bullets. I will still probably tidy it up a bit and then make another version with a flick and hold a poll or something.
also: for people complaining about the triple handed sniper, it doesn't let you reload if you have the watch out, and it doesn't let you take the watch out while reloading. the only way it would have three hands is if you hit the watch and reload button at the same time, which is unlikely to happen unless triggered manually.

It's the typical TF2 argument, it doesn't exactly matter if it would work in real life, as long as it looks cool and is practical, it's allowed.
revolvers dont have a barrel hole and dont eject any bullets.

i honestly wasn't trying to be serious, it's just the other guy's argument seemed a tad wonky imho. either way, i'm alright with the fully held barrel close on spark's derringer, so long as he fixes the way his arm twists in an incredibly odd way

Yes, this. I actually do it all the time since I'm a quick Spy that reloads as I cloak. Bothers me a bit since I see it happen all the time.

Hmmm... I think it'd be all fine if you'd just see the arm when he puts in the bullets (maybe at once) and then flips to close the Derringer. But I think it's still Sparkwire's decision.

By the way, the Derringer will be a replacement for the Ambassador at first, right?
It's a submission to Valve before anything else.
And as for a replacement, I don't know if it even can replace the ambassador anymore since it has the custom animations, have to ask Sparkwire about that.

The derringer's barrel looks like it's attached by a spring-loaded hinge. The spy flicks it forward and the barrel does not budge, but the bullets come out. It's stuck firmly in place (by the spring), so it makes sense that the spy has to close it by hand.
Also, you could make it so that both bullets shoot at once, reducing the clip to one and paving the way for more inventive (read: overpowered) or annoying attributes.
