There's like 15 "10th class idea" threads on the steam forums (excluding the guard dog ones) now. I can understand thinking Guard Dog was the 10th class, but how does one figure that "Guard Dog letter = Return of the Civilian"?

I hope this is a sentry and / or dispenser replacement, it would be weird to have playable dogs in the game.
I don't know how OP it would be if the dog healed as much as the cart does on payload maps, especially if it was with an offensive engineer on a payload map next to the cart, and several engineers were doing the same thing (for example), though.
As for DPS weapons on the dog, now that I think about it, that could be OP with multiple dog sentries around. Perhaps it could be balanced if it had a single tier 2 sentry barrel, and it shot at whatever its owner was shooting at.
And every time it kills something engie should say "Atta boy" or "Good dog" :p
It's a "camera" for the engineer that you can set on walls, ceilings, etc. Hence "Guard dog" something that protects and warns you when someone is near.
