• How to play the Combat Engineer

I play combat engi sometimes, he's pretty good. You focused on using the guns though not buildings. The buildings are your fucking life-savers. Enemies always go for your sentry first so if you're fighting try to keep 5 seconds between you and larger enemies. They always go for the SG first so if you just put up a little level 1 they'll sit there shooting it not paying attention to anything else until it's dead. You can use that time to get behind them and shotgun/wrench. Also it's good to put up a tele exit at your spawn and try to keep a tele entrance within a few seconds distance so that way if you're shooting down Scouts and Pyros, then a Heavy/Med comes around the corner you can run and take your teleporter back to the spawn instead of trying to shoot them down. Also if you're running away from someone if you whip around and put a dispenser down between you and them the enemy normally stops for a second to take it out while it's still going up, you can use the second or two to pump them full of shotty shells.
It's not points, it's entirely, 100% based on damage. This includes negative damage i.e. healing. Thus, medic gets shitloads of crits due to healing, engie gets shitloads of crits due to his sentry and the sniper gets shitloads of crits due to headshots. :eng101:
Well fuck, sometimes it seems like it just knows when to crit. Make an epic rocket jump and then hit with a shovel, and it's a crit. Do a Pyro rocket jump and then you crit everyone in the room. It knows, man, it knows! :tinfoil:
GOOD TIMES!
You can tell who was in the club by bringing it up.
A good strategy if you have auto-reload on: the first shot of each clip in the pistol is as accurate as a sniper round. If you're good at aiming, shoot somebody faaaaaaar away, reload, then rinse and repeat. I used this on my server one day and got a bunch of kills. It might work well on community made maps whic are usuallu a lot larger than most valve maps.
Why do you need auto reload on? Or is that tip intended for people that don't have a reloading OCD?

host_framerate 1 Pistol.

With weapons like a Para, I find myself going out of cover, firing 5 rounds, and reloading by instinct. Then I wait for an hour as I reload.
