I use the Degreaser, Reserve-Shooter, and Homewrecker or Axtinguisher The Reserve-shooter is like an axtinguisher with bullets, it's also very handy for taking enemy pyros out as you don't need them on fire, and you can push them away as well, disabling them to do damage with the flamethrower.
I usually roll with Flamethrower, reserve shooter and axtinguisher, for some reason I don't feel comfortable with the degreaser. I love airblasting people, then shooting them with the reserve and see that delicious amount of damage but some days ago I discovered the true power of the detonator, being able to take scout's shortcuts and the ability to set multiple people on fire itt's priceless

I can't for the life of me get the damn thing to detonate correctly, or see any effect from right-clicking. It just doesn't do anything.
I have never liked the Detonator. I can't for the life of me get the damn thing to detonate correctly, or see any effect from right-clicking. It just doesn't do anything.
good thing it can be crafted into a manmelter :v:
Well, the FaN helps keep distance between you and the enemy, it pushes your enemies so you can push them into a pit or blade or HHH and helps you jump alot higher. But, I do agree that the Scattergun is much better.
This is what I don't get. No sane Scout would want to push an enemy out of his or her primary damage zone.
This is what I don't get. No sane Scout would want to push an enemy out of his or her primary damage zone.
What if it's a Pyro?
I have never liked the Detonator. I can't for the life of me get the damn thing to detonate correctly, or see any effect from right-clicking.
What if it's a Pyro?
You'd be better off killing it in two shots with the Scattergun over shooting once and doing maximum damage, and the second shot doing crap damage.
What if it's a Pyro?
Pistol.
I want a strange machina pretty bad :v:
I gone mine by selling my buds on the Warehouse. I got the machina along with a service medal and a few other goodies.
FaN is good too. Shitstorm incoming.
I like using the FAN occasionally. It's a fun way to kinda dick around as scout with the triple jump, knockback and stuff. You know how fun it is to stun a heavy with a sandman ball, run up to him and blast him, while the knockback pushes him directly into your team sentry's line of fire?
Got me a nearly complete strange medic set (damn you, kritzkrieg!). Gonna be playing a lot more medic.

People in here don't make any sense. "FaN is good" "You're wrong." It's an opinion. I personally also enjoy the FaN for the benefits.
The FaN to me is only good to use on certain maps where there are lots of opportunities to knock people off the map like doublecross and hightower
I used with the pistol and found it wasn't bad. Then the uber update hit and I crafted that shit into a soda popper because I have a giant man crush on Bang! and that set.
I used with the pistol and found it wasn't bad. Then the uber update hit and I crafted that shit into a soda popper because I have a giant man crush on Bang! and that set.
definitely agree with this. the Soda Popper is so much fun when you can pull off a couple mini-crit shots. the Winger is balls and I'm not a huge fan of the Atomizer but that one amazing primary weapon is beautiful.
God damn, the Dead Ringer is obnoxious as hell. No-one falls for the "falling over and dying"" thing anymore; not only is it incredibly unrealistic compared to when someone actually dies, but if you know there's a spy, you can't do anything about it. He'll keep hopping from ammo kit and medkit to ammo kit and medkit. It's not overpowered or anything, it's just annoying as fuck.
If they change the sound to something more normal it could make wonders.
If they change the sound to something more normal it could make wonders.
problem with that is that will only throw off normal players for so long, and then the threat will continue to just be annoying. It's like people who argue that the Spy should get some sort of ability to fire blanks out of his disguises' weapons. The only thing this would do would force everyone to Spy-check everyone, even if they were shooting. The uninformed / new / terrible would get killed more, which doesn't help the playerbase at all. Spies might be a little more prevalent as you'd have to check if he was actually dealing damage, but any Pyro could tell the difference.
I do think the Dead Ringer has a legitimate use for getting through those spammy chokepoints. Really, you get hit once, you show up to everyone and get insta-killed. It's just the Dead Ringer is also good with the Saharan Spy set and Enforcer due to no downside in addition to the points I mentioned before.
I should really stop using the overdose, the speed isn't really noticeable, the firing sound is annoying as fuck, the only thing I don't care is the damage penalty, I never use syringe guns, I can't hit shit with them, I might go back to the crossbow
problem with that is that will only throw off normal players for so long, and then the threat will continue to just be annoying.
People in here don't make any sense. "FaN is good" "You're wrong." It's an opinion. I personally also enjoy the FaN for the benefits.
I just think there's a difference between a mathematical and practical downgrade and "an opinion." The Flare Gun is an opinion. The Bazaar Bargain is an opinion. The Loch-n-Load is an opinion. The FaN just cannot beat the Scattergun. As I said previously, if you're playing for fun, there's nothing wrong with it. The FaN is fun as fuck to use because of the triple jump and being able to knock people all over the place. But strategically, it's just not worth it.
Fan of War + Winger + Scatter. That is all. Sneak up on a heavy and wreck his shit up, implying he doesn't have natascha.
Fan of War + Winger + Scatter. That is all. It gains a tiny tiny advantage in the moments after firing, as you hit the end of the first clip, then sucks sucks sucks. apologies for the terrible quality, but you're only gimping yourself using the Winger.
I like when you pos,t because you are the only guy with good points and calm behavior.
well thanks! not to toot my own horn but I wrote (write? not really much anymore) for CommFT, so you could say I know my way around the game a bit.

FaN is more of a utility, whereas the Scattergun is more of a weapon

Does anyone here use the Pain Train?
Does anyone here use the Pain Train?
only on payload, and only rarely. 10% isn't a lot but giving up the Equalizer / DA is tough, and the Demoman has a lot of better, more reliable melees.
