I've been having problems with my steam overlay too lately, but i get this feeling it's because of google. The steam overlay works perfectly fine if I go to any random website or the steam community. However, once I go to google's home page, that's when it freezes up and can't be used. And even after I close the game, the steam overlay is still running and I have to go through task manager to shut it down.
