Anything by Studio Ghibli that is not Ponyo or Grave of the Fireflies.
My kids loved ponyo and mononoke. and no, they're not ready for grave of the fireflies. Man that movie made me and my wife tear back in the day, way back before we got married.
The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn.
seen it.
Aladdin, Lion King, Prince of Egypt and Toy Story were childhood favorites of mine.
[editline]15th June 2012[/editline]
Lion King has the advantage of blowing their minds later when they get to High School and realize it's Hamlet with animals.
I have all these in bluray.
You should watch the TF2 update that's coming out today!!
...
no? no.
I recommend Megamind. I loved it because I'm secretly 4 years old.
Watched megamind more than 10 times already.
Ponyo is a disgrace. If you want a real Studio Ghibli movie, you watch Howl's Moving Castle or Spirited Away.
Ponyo was not a bad movie, it just wasn't the mature sort of film that people expect from Ghibli.
as for movies to watch with your kids, Ronin, I'd probably go with Aladdin since it's my favorite Disney movie. How old are your kids, exactly?
Disney butchered the dub with little-siblings-of-disney-actors/singers instead of actually having decent VAs.
Okay, Ponyo with English Dubs.
The bluray dubs are really not that good. i watched the dubs only cuz so the kids can understand. I watch anime with subs mostly. Cowboy bebop is the ONLY dubbed version i liked so far.
So yeah, Spirited Away, My neighbour Totoro (great for young kids, still awesome for everyone else), Howl's moving castle, Kiki's Delevery Service and Laputa: Castle in the sky.
All great!

my kids are 4 and 6. My 6 year-old can tell you what happened to megamind from act to act. my 4 year old knows all 66 books of the bible memorized in song. They're quite mature for their age.

its not even a hint.
Cowboy bebop is the ONLY dubbed version i liked so far.
You sir, have excellent taste.
Is pyro going to be dubbed over by David Attenborough or Stephen Fry?
A Serbian Film
i know that indie film. definitely not for kids.

Wow. That's pretty impressive.
If any inside sources from Valve or so want someone to confide secrets in, add me on Steam.
It's on the left.
<---- there.

heh, I guess it's too early to break out things like Back to the Future or Robocop for them. Despicable Me is also a cute flick, but I imagine you and your kids have seen it already if you've watched Megamind that many times.
Growing up one one my favorite movies was Secret of NIMH, you could try that.
I wonder if they got Bateman to voice him?
They don't need to stick to him for Pyro, anyone can be Pyro since the voice is entirely muffled and filtered. It seems to me they did this for the laughing taunt. It's just a bit different than normal Pyro lines, but not enough that it seems out of place.

It's still my favourite Ghibli movie, I loved every single bit of it, specially the paleobiology porn. But well, whatever :v:

THIS. It's a really beautiful movie, like pretty much all Don Bluth movies from the eighties
also please keep whatever you see on that video (and other videos in that account) within this thread. thanks.

I'm almost positive that's Bateman laughing. They had to bring him in for the "Kill me" line in MtM, and while he was recording, they had him do those new High-Five Taunt lines. He might've gone ahead and mumbled a bit for MtP during that session, too, for all we know.
It probably sounds different because it's been years since he first did Pyro. Kinda like how Engie Update voice lines sound slightly different than the originals.

Well I presume they got the laughing sound for the Spy from Bateman, why not the pyro at the same time?

Maybe make them unlisted/private?
Yes, the Professional is a fun family movie.
I was thinking of Nikita, actually. I watched both when I was nine.

I was amazed Soldier sounded so close to his original lines, even when talking like a robot.

I watched the Professional when I was a kid too. I didn't understand it at all, I didn't get that he was an assassin, and the slight pedophile undertones were totally lost on my child self.
You should watch monsters vs aliens, the general is voiced by the soldier.
I have given a name to my pain, and it is Bateman.
You should watch monsters vs aliens, the general is voiced by the soldier, at least in the french dub.

I actually like the way the High Five lines are delivered a lot better than his stock lines. Especially since his stock lines are like 5 actual sounds re-arranged a dozen different ways.
So yeah, Spirited Away, My neighbour Totoro
Never seen either of these and I've got nothing to do today. Dub or sub?
