But what would be painted on the Dragonborn helmet?
I'd vote for the horns being paintable.
I thought it would be obvious to be the horns?
I think monday night is the night.

and then the day after that and then the day after that and then the day after that and then the day after that and then the day after that and then the day after that and then the day after that...
Well as said before I don't think there will be a real update on monday, maybe just a steady increase of hints to hype it up, if that happens the time will fly and I wouldn't care.
The recent increase in hints really just feels like they're attempting to placate us, not like they're actually nearing completion of the update. We've been getting the same sort of thing since March, and it's only increased in frequency recently, after people started sending e-mails.
At this rate I'll be shocked if it happens this month.

Monday Night is the night for a Combat
It's a- Wait, hold on. *unhearable stuff* My assistant Greg tells me I've already made this joke.
Well Greg isn't the one working at the Joke Department. So I make whatever jokes I want to do, smarty-pants.
Plus I can fire you if you're not laughing. So get back to work. While laughing.

It WILL be after a trip to our laboratories.
So those group of Redditors that went to Valve apparently had to sign a NDA, so don't expect any news about anything from them.

"Hey guys, I know you didn't really get to see anything today, but please sign these NDA's."
"Why? We didn't see anything worth spoiling."
"Yes, that's why."

Weird. I always thought Valve was so informal when it came to showing people stuff they were working on.
An NDA says to me they're still in the middle of making stuff. Important stuff.
... maybe we'll see something near the end of the year?
NDA could also signify the stuff is done and they don't want them spilling it last minute. The closer stuff is to being finished, the more specific people can be with details, they may have even told them the date.
It's one thing to say "I saw them testing some new stats. I also watched meet the pyro, it's coming along great!" and "I saw them testing new stats, on the Dumpster Device, on Soho, and there were robots. We watched Meet the Pyro and there were robots, and PYRO IS A ROBOT! OMG and the update is next Thursday!"
WHY IS IT SUCH AN UNHOLY BITCH TO GET YOUR COMPUTER TO WIRELESSLY PROJECT TO YOUR TV ;_;
ALL I WANTED WAS TO PLAY TF2 ON MY NEW 55" TV D:
re: nda bullshit
I imagine it might have something to do with the fact that it was a group of people who frequent a website about sharing things you just saw.

I doubt it'd be different with a group from Facepunch.
And for pageking: what do you think the NDA signifies?

It wouldn't, it's a joke. I imagine anyone who takes a tour and gets to see shit that's in development has to sign a NDA, or else they get a very short tour. The terms of which most likely vary greatly depending on the day and what Gaben had for lunch. It probably covers enough so that you'd be able to say, "yeah we saw Meet the Pyro and some other stuff that we can't talk about," and not give a play by play analysis of the entire video and future update.
NDA is universal business practice. Signifies nothing.
NDA is universal business practice. Signifies nothing.
I'm talking about in terms of where you think the update's at in terms of progress like others were speculating on the last page.
Back then when the Uber Update, when the speculation about MtM and all that, I forgot the guy who went there in a tour and saw MtM before us and all that, the thing I remember was that he was able to tell us everything as in "We saw Meet the Medic and all" and he even told us about a scene (Heavy in a wheelchair), and if he was able to say that, that means that no NDA or anything...
If they end up signing NDA to not say anything that means that they have somethig big... even bigger than the uber update...
...
Or in retrospective, it means nothing and I am way too hyped and I have scout and medic and primary and seconday tokens and scrap metal in order to carft Grordbrort's new weapons as soon as they come out...

except valve doesn't usually use them for people on tours.
For example, Helljumper just toured Valve last month and they didn't make him sign an NDA, they just kindly requested he be quiet. Note: Helljumper is a prominent and well known poster on SPUF and Valve is very aware of this.
Something changed since last month, and I believe it means the update is very close.

It could mean an infinite number of things, including:
- They saw something far, far, off, unrelated to TF2 or any current projects.
- They saw new stuff from TF2 or DOTA2, and don't want any details leaking because it might disrupt data that they hired that economist to analyze.
- Meet the Pyro has 20 huge twists in it and none of them can be revealed.
- Gabe added a new knife to his knife collection, and isn't prepared to have the world at large know.
Or it could just be part of a policy somewhere, fuck I dunno.

Could've been that since it was a group that Valve decided to go NDA on them as it'd be hard to have a gentleman's word with a bigger than average group.
Even on group tours they've never used NDAs before. Whole universities have toured Valve and just been told to keep quiet.

Yeah but, like ned said, Valve is more open when it comes to info and all that...
My extremely pessimist side says that the Big thing planned about TF2 this year would be something like this, and maybe the tour of this NDA thing too... :
"Thanks for supporting us this many years... but it's time to stop this game and move on with other things... please... sign this and don't say anything"
And then they signed and mouths shut...
Again, is not very possible because of the shit-ton of money that they get, let alone the money the contributors get, due to the store, but still... I think about them calling it quits with TF2 as the big thing they have planned :[
*Destroying all hopes and dreams in 3... 2... 1...*

If that's the case, then I'll have to agree with your "something's changed, it's close" theory.

clearly this means that Gabe's ENTIRE knife collection is getting in-game, and Meet the Pyro has more twists than Ghost Trick
seriously though I really do hope we get something soon, it's just been so goddamn long
I know this isn't the 'make your own stats' topic, but fuck, we've strayed off topic much worse, sooooo...
I had an idea for an Engineer weapon, a Wrangler-esque one. What it would do is, of course, let you helm your sentries, but it would offer a lower firing rate, although I haven't figured if it'd be less than the Wrangler or less than the normal firing rate.
To make up for this downside, it would offer a faster weapon switch. Not sure how fast, but it ties in with its other mechanic, the Solemn Vow's attribute: it would allow the Engineer to see an enemy's health (and even their buildings!) with the scanner out.
The point is that it would allow an Engineer to see the enemy's health, and using this info, make a decision to either gun the enemy down or run like a bitch. It would certainly assist Gunslinger Engineers more, and it just seems like some sort of tech that the Engineer would create.
Any crits/suggestions?
Make the Original's "Fires From Center" attribute non-hidden, so it shows up as a neutral attribute?
agree/disagree?
