Again, is not very possible because of the shit-ton of money that they get, let alone the money the contributors get, due to the store, but still... I think about them calling it quits with TF2 as the big thing they have planned :[
Well, it would make positively zero business sense considering they make a ton of money off of the microtransactions, and they put in a lot of effort into making the Workshop functional. There's also minimal work they realistically have to put into the project in order to sustain it, based purely off of the volume of community content out there that they have permission to use. It's no surprise TF2's been on the backburner (pyro puns dohohohoho), and likely will be for the majority of the foreseeable future, but this isn't exactly news. Valve created content for TF2 has been rather slim, and unless they have ridiculously ambitious plans they intend on dropping soon-ish, will probably continue to be slim.
I don't know why valve needs to bother with ndas. Imagine: "oh boy, that was a great tour!" "Hey, you're welcome. Now you're not going to tell anybody about this, are you?" "well, maybe, maybe not.." "uh huh. Here, there's one last thing we want to show you....." "oh hey, that's gre...holyjesusthat'salotofknifes." "Yes it is. Now, about what you've seen-are you going to tell anybody?" "OHGODNOPLEASEDON'THURTME" "Thought not."
The "It's far, far off!" argument makes almost exactly the same amount of sense as the "It's almost upon us!" argument. I think the only thing we can actually agree on is that this update is NOT going to be released in a moderate amount of time.
changing the original requires a companion TF_English file though. However, if I also make a custom tf_english, I can also add styles as part of the project.
One day we'll get to play that update. one day :unsmith:
Make the Original's "Fires From Center" attribute non-hidden, so it shows up as a neutral attribute? agree/disagree?
Could you show the attribute on the Boom Bringer that shows when you taunt it makes noise?
I mean... I could, it's just more strings in TF_whatever "On taunt: Drop a phat beat" ?
at very least , a few more people buy it
They probably saw the "not a hat map hybrid"
why is this sort of set up for paint? I'd never make it paintable, but I found it odd it seems to be the only halloween item that seems to set up sort of for paint. It just had all the relevant VMT stuff commented out (meaning it wouldn't be possible with schema anyway)
Even on group tours they've never used NDAs before. Whole universities have toured Valve and just been told to keep quiet.
I kinda think this is a result of two things, first that they've had people leak bits of what would seem to be meaningless info, but to Valve it might be important. Second the tf2 team constantly changes and so does their policy. Or a more worrying option, they do not want to hype us up in any way. They don't even want people talking "yes, we've seen mtp, it was great". Remember back when Ronin said not to get so hyped up? Yeah. They might just want us to not have such high expectations, because the update/gamemode won't be as great as our imaginations are making it out to be.
but any day now we'll be fighting robots, in space, over 400 new weapons, 3 new classes, 36 new maps and 1300 new achievements!!!
I'm two hours late here but: does anyone else here think that valve making those reddit people sign that NDA is a reprocusion of the Dota2 leak? For those who don't know a few upcoming/cut dota2 classes were leaked when a person from a tour group took photos of a coffee table book in the lobby. Maybe that has made valve more security conscious. Then again, they're still giving tours.

So no, it's not that at all.
The guy holding the camera is valve, the duck is all of us. He is asking about the update, in case none of you can speak duck.
Whatever you don't don't check the comments on this guy's videos. Things don't go well for that baby duck .
Welp, we are officially at the middle of the year. A WHOLE HALF YEAR. I really hope that this week will be the week... please?
I signed a nda like one month ago. You can say that you signed it and what you saw but can't give any info about them. If you do, you go to jail like that german kid. But if you don't sign anything and leak stuff (Sob concept art), they can do nothing.
I signed a nda like one month ago. You can say that you signed it and what you saw but can't give any info about them. If you do, you go to jail like that german kid.
Who was this German kid (for those living under a rock)?
Who was this German kid (for those living under a rock)?
nvm. WRONG THING.
Who was this German kid (for those living under a rock)?
HL2 beta leaker
Who was this German kid (for those living under a rock)?
The kid who leaked the Half-Life 2 alpha/beta. So how would a wrench that functions like a reverse version of the persian persuader jive with the community?
So how would a wrench that functions like a reverse version of the persian persuader jive with the community?
Just as badly as when the PP was released, at least on SUF
So how would a wrench that functions like a reverse version of the persian persuader jive with the community?
You mean health kits = metal? That could be kinda interesting, but it'd definitely force you to build a dispenser quickly.
You mean health kits = metal? That could be kinda interesting, but it'd definitely force you to build a dispenser quickly.
Definetly, couldn't venture far from the medic or dispenser really. Most likely put a huge emphasis on being defensive when setting up nests
Definetly, couldn't venture far from the medic or dispenser really. Most likely put a huge emphasis on being defensive when setting up nests
You've sold me. As long as we could still use dispensers for health that would be a pretty awesome trade off.
So how would a wrench that functions like a reverse version of the persian persuader jive with the community?
About as well as a medigun that constantly replenished your patient's reserve ammo and expanded their clip by 50%, and gave unlimited ammo/increased firing speed as an uber. (i think both these things would be awesome)
Doesn't seem very useful, getting metal is easy and if you're behind enemy lines and can't get metal then use the widowmaker. Now what would be cool is a medigun that dispenses ammo
Now what would be cool is a medigun that dispenses ammo
Check mark to you, but it should be at a slow rate as not to anger SUF.
You've sold me. As long as we could still use dispensers for health that would be a pretty awesome trade off.
Maybe add a slight additional boost where it makes dispenser's metal recharge time speed up.
