Now I'm wondering if they won't wait until after the big Summer Sale to debut whatever they've got planned. This is my latest theory.
Also, does anyone know if there's a hi-res reskin/fix for the Degreaser first-person model? I'm so tired of being reminded how poor the quality is whenever I play Pyro.

They'll make more money if they release the new items before the sale so all the new TF2 players and new steam players will see them and go buy them.
I do think that anime references would be a lot more welcome by the community than Pony references.

As an alternative primary to the awful wee booties or to the helpful-but-not-medieval grenade launcher, how about a throwable spear/pike? Basically, primary attack button (left mouse standard) to stab, and secondary attack (right mouse click) button to throw it. Retrieve it like in an actual fight with a spear to get it back instantly, or if you lose it, wait a good while for it to come back, or get a new one from supply. It should do more damage when thrown, but take a second to "charge" (a bit like huntsman). It would be an interesting weapon in that would require some skill to use (the opposite of "W+M1" that everyone always complains about), as you would have to balance the urge to throw it, with self preservation, as defending yourself without your weapon would be hard. I envision throwing the spear at a heavy, then using a splendid screen to charge him, and finishing him off with a sword slash. Medieval-mode friendly, awesome, and an entirely new weapon type. the trick to balancing it of course, would be making it more powerful in a single throw than a grenade which it replaces, but less so than a couple of grenades, as it also has the stab function. Yes, you could just switch to melee if you wanted to melee attack, but it is quite convenient having a stronger, at-the-ready melee attack. An obvious question would be "what use is my melee then"? Well, since right click would be spear throw, you'd have to charge while holding a different weapon, ie your melee, so your melee would still serve as your charge-and-slice weapon, as well as bringing its own attributes. PersianP and Eyelander each still have their important benefits. Bonus points with a spear is that it would be quite compatible with the PP, as it wouldn't require "ammo" per se.
