being optomistic here, perhaps the borax used to line the pyros suit as to make it fire-retardant has to do source of the lint
Asbestos =/= borax.
Well it's flammable, right?
Maybe that's what caught the Diary on fire.
True... but Cheese isn't really flammable, it melts yeah, but I don't think it can catch on fire. Unless the SPUF member with the "the Spy is French so he must love chesse" idea is correct.
Oh, uh, just so we're all aware,
The quote from the descriptions are from the sherlock holmes story, "The Adventure of the Copper Beeches".
I'd like to point out that raid mode will involve a large amount of copper bitches.
Maybe this is in the diary

"I have devised seven separate explanations, each of which would cover the facts as far as we know them. But which of these is correct can only be determined by the fresh information which we shall no doubt find waiting for us"
- From The Adventure of the Copper Beeches
There are 7 items and only one right answer.

Cheese is quite flammable, being composed in large part of fats which are themselves almost entirely simple hydrocarbons, not so different from what's in your car.

oh, this got a real hardy chuckle from me. I'm not even being sarcastic, I'll probably still be cracking smiles at this all day tomorrow.

I was referring to the Pocket Lint. It could be from the inside of the Pyro's suit, where the diary was kept. It got caught on fire and burnt the diary?
VALVe just boosted sales of "The Adventures of the Copper Breeches" five-fold for the year, I'm sure.
Bananas are radioactive.

I downloaded it for free on my iPad :)
I plan on reading it, eventually, because of this week.

But if the Lint was in Pyro's suit which is supposed to PREVENT fire from getting in, how did it catch on fire? Unless the Pyro dilibiratly stuck the Flamethrower into the suit for thrills I guess...
Bananas are radioactive.
Not enough to be relevant.

I wonder how Valve helped the book that the Sniper VA wrote.

perhaps the pyro got wet and decided to "dry" the suit
If I had to pick one of the 7 to be the right "answer" to a non-existent problem we seem to have, I would pick the Peel.
Pretty much solely because it's the only one that appears modeled.
got a dang heart attack because the steam updating icon. CURSE YOU DOTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Maybe the suit was unzipped for some reason? Maybe all these useless junk items are shown in MtP as clues or something, going along with the Sherlock Holmes idea.
Man, I read a sherlock holmes treasury last year. this is my chance to be all "NO WAIT, I KNOW WHAT WE MUST DO"
but it turns out my brain is basically pudding. I can't remember a goddamn thing. The quote was googled.
e: also, there might not be an answer for us, until the movie hits. We've already seen Scout and Heavy puzzling over mysterious photos in December, so we know mystery's part of the plot.
You guys have more use for these then i do.

What if Meet the Pyro is based on those scenes in the Sherlock Holmes movie, with the dramtic slow-mo and zoom-ins as the Pyro torches the other team?

it could be based on the new pbs series as well, but heck it could be based of of any part of sherlock holmes in media

Every weapon i dropped got me one of those, i won't even bother idling today so i don't get more crap.
I'm optimistic that Friday gets a big reveal of something, and Monday starts Day 1. Or Friday is Day 0 or something like that
This is getting ridiculous, I'm having to forward all this junk offsite to an alt account's backpack to save room.
Speaking of which, how many people do you think pre-ordered Quantum Conundrum for the game?
Saw a video going over it, heard something about an ex-portal developer being involved, planned on getting it and forgot the name entirely.
Fast forward, TF2 gets a new batch of promos but this is so commonplace nowadays it didn't even register that this happened to be the same game.
Wasn't until someone said something about someone else's worn cosmetics in-game that i was all OH SHIT I FORGOT ABOUT THAT

I'm also wondering if this hat shows anything different in the description of the useless junk items.
The magnifying glass and map could mean something, but it probably is just for the map stamps.
Maybe I just need to get some sleep.
Wow look at me, lurking for months facepunch, checking all those cool tf2 items and reading all about you guys, then one night i just simply decided to join the badwagon for the sake of pocket junk.

who in their right mind would keep an entire cheese wedge in their pocket, let alone a goldfish and a barn door plank

Quick! Someone buy 100,000 stamps in the store so we can debunk this theory!
