Yeah, Valve are the kings of making shit up as they go along. There was no Redmond or Blutarch until 2009....or 2010. I forget. Hell, even Saxton Hale didn't exist until 2009.
Hooray! Found some pocket lints + Scottish Resistance. IZ GOOD

I really miss that not more people build onto the James Bond disguise secret spybases theme that although still prevalent has been severely undermined as of late. I'd like more maps that feel more like massive spybases disguised as something else, rather than different environments with secret spybase rooms hidden away in some corner only used to spawn players.
Hooray! Found some pocket lints + Scottish Resistance. IZ GOOD
I have a few lints as well http://tf2b.com/tf2/76561198040478481 I'm gonna keep everything because I'm thinking they will be used with metal to craft new weps/miscs/hats...
I'm gonna keep everything because I'm thinking they will be used with metal to craft new weps/miscs/hats...

Given that Valve now has an in-house economist and use Team Fortress 2 as a testbed for their ideas, this is likely an experiment to see if people would actually trade literally useless shit or not.
I think this makes sense.
koth_soho was that community map Valve was testing a while back, yes?
WHoa whoa WHOA WHOA Guys. I was just reading the TF2 wiki and noticed this "On a personal level, Radigan Conagher had a fascination for Abraham Lincoln. In the first edition of The Engineer Update, several pages of notes are dedicated to inventing an object that could have saved Lincoln from John Wilkes Booth. Some devices include: a hat that would shoot at the attacker, a chair that would swing over and under a balcony away from the attacker, and a teleporter. " Radigan built a third life extender machine...Pyro is Abraham Lincoln. The thing on his back isn't an air tank, its a portable life extender! And he's insane because he's a reanimated corpse. Perhaps that house that got burned down was Radigans house. It looks like a western town house!

I just noticed something from the engineer update page.
I like this theory: http://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/vd1vb/crackpot_mystery_items_theory/

Just look who happens to be the Pyro.
Yeah, thats why I even stated this theory.
I'm gonna keep everything because I'm thinking they will be used with metal to craft new weps/miscs/hats...
I'm doing the same from now on. They have to be for more than that quote right? Guys?
Sweet, got cheese wheel and capacitor on a couple of idling alt accounts over night(among a hat and other things)! I want to keep this stuff in my main account but they just give you so much of it. So much fucking lint...
the pyro is the pyro , thats it , we will never know who he/she is , because revealing it would ruin the character so much
the pyro is the pyro , thats it , we will never know who he/she is , because revealing it would ruin the character so much
Valve is in a pickle. They reveal the Pyro? People are mad that they ruined the mystery. They don't? People are mad that they didn't.
How about this: The Red Pyro - Zombie Abraham Lincoln. Gender confused for some reason. The Blu Pyro - Robot prototype that only wants to kill people. Its emotion chip causes it to act both masculine and feminine on accident.
That post from Reddit: "The story is set in 1890, around the same time Blutarch Mann's assistant introduced him to Radigan Conagher to build the life-extending machine." It's not around the same time, it's exactly the same time. Loose canon takes place in 1890 (as does Copper Beeches). Well anyway, today is suppose to be the hottest day of the year, and only my bedroom has air conditioning, so I might curl up in my climate controlled room later today and read the Copper Beeches.
Valve is in a pickle. They reveal the Pyro? People are mad that they ruined the mystery. They don't? People are mad that they didn't.
People have always complained about something, it's nothing new to Valve.
From the excerpt I read it was about large open spaces. He was talking about the relative safety in closeness, as generally people will be in earshot, and all these nice little spaced out country houses scare the crap out of him.

"such places" are the isolated countryside. And farmhouses are out in the countryside...
How oddly fitting, considering we have the screenshot of Pyro burning down what looks like a farmhouse. And farmhouses are out in the countryside...
This makes me think of 2fort. Didn't one of the rockets crash here?
I have a theory about the item meta-game. I think it'll be a metagame like the Potato one, involving a community-wide effort. We'll have to craft a determined number of Diaries. A diary is crafted by combining two capacitors. A capacitor is crafted by combining two cheese wheels, and so on. The drop rate suggests something along these lines. This would require the entire community to play Team Fortress 2 and trade its items in order to craft diaries. When we craft enough page diaries, we unlock Meet the Pyro.
Found this on the engineer update page, probably doesn't have anything to do with the robot stuff. Couple of concept art photos of him unmasked. I know these are late, but this could somehow help.
Fried Capacitor + Fried Capacitor = Book. Apparently.
