Do you get different errors each time or does this have to do with how many bananas you craft?

The 'detailed report' is different for every attempt at crafting the banana. Lets try translating one and see how it goes.
my friend crafted 3 bananas together and got "Crafting Successful!", but his bananas didn't disappear.

The Dual-Purpose fruit does nothing, never has and probably never will.
There are 8 different detailed errors for crafting the bannana.
Translate each of the detailed errors to reveal more information perhaps?
