Learn to let go of things. Business always comes down to resources, effort and final product. Any sentimental value you feel during the project and the products life span will be forever engrained to the products reputation. Dwelling on that just hinders progress. That is a common novice artist misconception.
You're more likely to get 'Poker night' two, with Soldier, Doc Brown, Tidehunter, Notch and Super Meat Boy.
you make it sound like that's not a possibility after poker night's cast
i dont care about a tf3 right now i want meet the pyro , tobors and lasers ! D:<
...eh
Weta listen the cowmangler and bison were epic at first but then you created fag pyros and engis so nope
Some guy is basically spamming every Weta submission with this useless dribble.
So guys, how bout that Grordbort? Is it just me, or does the Medic Backpack looks REALLY REALLY rough? The fact that these are on the Workshop give me hope, but the fact that that backpack looks like an early draft makes me skeptical.
the Medic backpack being a misc, and looking kind of rough, and the Scout's gloves not having rigging make me think this update is quite a bit away, and this is just to satiate us. Plus the lack of showing the weapons.

I'm saying that skinning the current TF2 and making a new sock puppet out of it's flesh is unoriginal and lacks creativity. They're more likely to make another game, separate to TF2. More economical use of time, and they both make the most possible money simultaneously. Remaking TF2 is a bad business decision, as well as a bad creative decision.
you make it sound like that's not a possibility after poker night's cast
No, those are the ones i want :P :P :P
I'm saying that YOU are the one being sentimental on EVERYTHING. Learn to move on.
Can't see were you're getting that from. If anyone's having trouble dropping an idea, it's you and TF3 :P
The 9 TF2 classes have reached iconic status; they are no longer the generic grunts of Classic, they are characters in their own, and an assemble cast while we are at it. They could work well in ANY setting. A TF3 would likely just involve changing the setting a bit while retaining the characters, and massive engine overhauls.
they probably wouldn't call it TF3, they'd more likely call it "Super Team Fortress 2" or something tacked onto "Team Fortress 2" it's just TF3 is your obvious placeholder for a sequel or spin-off game
Team Fortress 2: Episode One, obviously
We have enough shitty video game sequels these days. I don't think Valve has the need to join the bandwagon (although I doubt they could turn their games as shitty as most of today's games, but it could still be a quite boring idea of making TF3). As I said earlier, I just want Valve to somehow keep updating TF2 and releasing Meet the Pyro. The only sequel I want from Valve right now is Half-Life 3.
also, im not that dumb to go ahead an remodel TF2 at its current engine. I dont have a programmer, a coder, a server nor a map maker. Taking EVERY post i make seriously is a tell tale sign of a personal fixation either on my internet persona or my personal background. go on. deny it. :D [editline]8th June 2012[/editline]
The 9 TF2 classes have reached iconic status; they are no longer the generic grunts of Classic, they are characters in their own, and an assemble cast while we are at it. and since no one actually posted a link to all the new items I'll do it. With dragons, wizards and shit you know. But with the same classes and (more or less) the same gameplay as TF2. That would be so hilariously out of place.
>Wake up >See that people are excited about something >Check the Workshop >See the new Grordbort items But seriously, the Medic goggles are the only bit that make me physically recoil.
Kinda hard when only one of the classes (and some sets of another) is not focused on projectile weaponry, to be honest...

I thought this was a Team Fortress 2 Speculation thread...
I would like to see the TF2 universe set in the future. Not the "THERE'S A NUCULAR APOCALYSPE EVERY WEEKEND AND WE STILL USE BULLETS DESPITE IT BEING THE DISTANT FUTURE" future, but the "NEON LIGHTS AND LAZER BEAMS AND SPACE SHIPS AND MOON BASES PEW PEW PEW MOTHERFUCKERS" future. Something cool and space-opera-ey, so few games and movies are doing that anymore.
I thought this was a Team Fortress 2 Speculation thread...
We're speculating if Ronin makes a new game or not while we wait for any TF2 update at all
As for the Medic goggles... well... they're different, atleast. They could have just done the Braniac Goggles again... But I want something a little more... Something like those Night Vision Goggles from Jurassic Park could look pretty bitchin.
Go be grumpy somewhere else, we love rainbows here
My rainbows go to things like Hideous's Peace, Love, and Giblets set getting in. Because that looks jawesome. Or the rocket launcher from Dewzie's J.I. DOE set. We have a Workshop full of community-submitted content that looks far better than anything official we've gotten recently.
We're speculating if Ronin makes a new game or not while we wait for any TF2 update at all
Well, i am working on a top down racing game with a friend. Definitely not TF3. yet. I have concepts for a co-op topdown mech game though. I need to learn UDK a bit more.
we need more people fighting for the medic backpack being part of the weapon on the workshop.
TF3 will not exist because Valve can't count to 3! With this stupid joke out of the way: I'm giving TF2 another 3-4 years. Then: Super TF: Reloaded Revelations Restuff.
I think there's potential for TF2 to become Valve's Mario. Team Karting, Team Fortress Party, the possibilities are endless.
But seriously, the Medic goggles are the only bit that make me physically recoil.
They're too over-designed.
