Not with this update, but one where it's nothing important (like TOBOR or MtP, something just for fun).
Have like 5 of these special objects and make them drop with the frequency of Salvaged Crates.
And then.... something happens, I dunno...
A mystery could be cool too, like drop the community some cryptic messages and send everyone on a scavenger hunt, so the entire TF2 community needs to work together to decipher the clues.

Way I see it, there's three likely scenarios:
1. We get something minor, like a blog post or the start of a multi-day update (Timbuk-Tuesday and all that)
2. A teaser in-game (like the doves)
3. An actual update (adds Grordbort items to get them out of the way before the really big shit, for example)
valve is busy whit the Interational Qualifier, i don't think we are going to have something today.
they delayed the update of dota 2 (and TF2) to monday because of that.

they delayed the Dota update because the update would have messed with the tournament.
You don't update a game in the middle of a major tournament.

They delayed the dota2 update because they didn't want to throw that in the middle of the qualifiers. :v:

And apparently Valve cared about the UGC all-star game because they delayed the maintenance originally planned for Tuesday to Wednesday. Though it'd be courteous of them, if I were a league owner, I'd put the rest of the network FIRST before the league.

Manniversary didn't add any new weapons, and we already knew which weapons were coming from the mannconomy update.

True, but considering this is something so huge that they've built up for so long, I wouldn't think they'd just drop it on us without SOME buildup or fanfare.
Uber Update had the doves, the themed days, and Meet the Medic at the end.
I assume they'll follow a similar pattern of teaser/announcement -> multiday buildup -> actual update/Meet the Pyro.
Actually, those two items are both badges/pins, it's easy to tell. The first one is obiviously for finishing your first game of Man VS Machines. The second, I have doubts, although my guess is that it is related to killing a certain number of bots/squads/waves.
Think about it. Why would they [B]TEASE[/B] us with [B]ITEMS[/B] you will earn by [B]COMPLETING[/B] the new gamemode?
If reward-based items are actually finished and ready to ship, that probably means everything is ready to ship.

As a lot of you I'm betting that today we get a minor update, the weekly one as usual with A LOT of Undocumented changes in order to get ready for next week. I will mainting my hopes up until tonight, then, I guess back to crying all over Super MNC and being rude, and dislike everyone, cause that's what MOBA players do to relief their anger, right? :v:.

We could possibly remove 5, I think that was just because of the website redesign.
the doves on the website were for the website, they were pooping on the old blog because it was old and going in the trash.
They probably won't do something like that for Meet the Pyro
