Aaaand yet another guy who claims to know stuff You should make a Steam group
Did you guys just make 308 posts of hype for 2 lines of text in less than a day? Hahahahahahahaha
Why did you tell us if you aren't going to say what you know anyway. Do you like having some sort of power over us?
Did you guys just make 308 posts of hype for 2 lines of text in less than a day? Hahahahahahahaha
we also had the weta items also being shown, plus contributors mentioning Valve being busy this week
We are desperate for new info. Any of you USA users should go to Valve, and place some recording bugs here, or yet better, hide a device which will stream audio with it. This way, we'll know something for sure!
But Valve probes these parts, it's not safe to do that.
Usually we have at least one or two interesting stories that surface on SUF, Reddit or Facepunch about people visiting Valve and getting some insight on TF2's future. This year we haven't had any at all. That's crazy. Maybe people have tried, but they're barred from chatting with the one Milton-esque employee Gabe put in the basement to work on TF2.
Dota 2 is a terrible game and everyone who plays it should DIE My little pony is overrated
where's F00l when you need him.
where's F00l when you need him.
Probably at his home enjoying his weekend. It's a very nice day, so maybe he's sunbathing v:v:v
where's F00l when you need him.
not working on TF2 ...he works on general Steam stuff now, like security and servers
God, you speculate so much I can barely keep up on my Iwifiisoutofrange. Anyways today I ordrered a Coke at the beach. It tasted like radioactive waste and cherries. The signs are undoubtable, update (like any major update ever) hits when I get back from Italy next week. And if it doesn't I will unleash a raging inferno and that bar will know true suffering. That or I'll make a mock up in after effects :v:
A close friend of mine went to valve a few weeks ago. He said that valve didnt want him to tell certain information and frankly he didnt tell me either. However, there was mention of some more workshop changes and some mention about weapon stats and how the community can help on that end aside from TF2 beta testing. I think valve is finally listening to many of use asking for them to release the item stats that they are testing and have us the community make models for the said stats. I always thought this is a good step for the game but im not completely sure. What do you guys think? Would it be good for TF2 or bad for us the community?
Well.. Valve's models have always been up to scratch, sure. But if you look at the weapons from release, and newer weapons, they just seem to have degraded somewhat; For example, the stock syringe gun looks very nice, both in model and texture, and the reload animation is very well made. Now look at the overdose. Half the reload animation is missing (Syringes from nowhere D;) and the texture just doesn't seem as well made. Maybe, if all content is community-submitted, the models will be release-quality once again? I sure hope so.
they need to start allowing proper sound submissions. No excuses now. They allow it for Dota, allow it for TF2. Implementing new sounds for weapons is crazy easy, like really. Easier than a lot of other stuff they're perfectly willing to do. Hell, I'll do it for them

my guess is Valve saw how Tightrope and Weaponiser were so successful and fun, that maybe they'll let the community code attributes for them
the diamondback was made by a community member , Larolaro
Oh yeah, so it was. Good call. Derp. Well, I guess I could just subsitute Diamondback for Overdose. And stuff. :3 .. I'm surprised how easy it was to replace that.
the last Valve made weapon, not counting promos, was the Machina.
the last Valve made weapon, not counting promos, was the Machina.
Wasn't the Machina a promo weapon?
ermm... I suppose it was. Then the Quick Fix and friends
That's a horrible idea.
I don't know about you, but I like climbing mountains as Sniper. Besides, Weaponiser has 2 weapons in-game already
Besides, Weaponiser has 2 weapons in-game already
Really? Which ones? Let's see how balanced they are
Okay so as it turns out we've got MvM coming earlier than the saxxies/meet the pyro? I mean, adding new items to the schema is, like, the final steps torwards an update, right? [editline]9th June 2012[/editline]
Really? Which ones? Let's see how balanced they are
detonator is pretty balanced.

I'm all for a more active "Beta" testing initiative involving the community. Even if it ended up just being a place for the vocal minority to whine, it'd still be fun to try out horribly over/underpowered new stuff from time to time without the risk of it infecting the actual game. I feel like people would actually be able to suggest and iterate on drastically different playstyles this way, without it devolving into arguing over hypotheticals. Stats on paper is one thing, but actually experiencing those stats in gameplay is invaluable.
detonator is pretty balanced.
And so is the Backscratcher tbh.
Backscratcher and Detonator? Then I'd say the community isn't bad at making stats. I approve of this idea.
