People were expecting just Grordbert update? Hell, I was expecting MTP, Saxxys, Grordbert, MvM and the summer update all rolled into one. You people hope too small.

Smaller hopes hurt less when it turns out this week isn't the week

Hoping big, I do wish that they put the MvM as a new game-mode as part of the Saxxy update which will give people maybe a different mode and new maps to film some great vids. While those are the major additions, the new weta and summer items will serve as new toys for the general addition to gameplay...and of course hats.
I won't be expecting the MtP till Christmas since that in of itself deserves a major update surrounding it.
For a weta update? doubt it.
it'd probably be a one page update. 2 sets. a little story. some new item for doing - x - in the update. and the other possible cosmetic/weapon additions.
Oh please no. We didn't get any new big update since January. Biggest year for TF2...yeah, sure...
Maybe pyro burning down the saxxy theater, in the preview picture of MTP.
And thats why the saxxy is delayed. :tinfoil:
I await this update in hopes that we get new things to replace, such as robot minions and what-not.

christmas 2011 was 3 days
No, this time I think they know we're expecting Weta weapons so they probably won't even take the time to update grocket material.
Don't quote me on that, huh. But I have my hopes up for grordbort weapons this very week.
If they release them as a standalone update, they will update the Grockets this week or later.
Because they need to make up stats v:v:v

*No Random crits
*Does not require ammo
*Enrages SPUF
*Still doesn't fix the Loch n Load
BAM. Pack it and ship it. :v:

Look, they've had new grodbort weapons planned since february, I'm pretty sure that is enough time to cook up stats for 4 weapons, really.

I'd actually love to see a weapon that's special feature is that it makes a random SPUF user cry upon firing.
That'd be a hoot.

That would be every unlockable weapon ever.
it's funny how SPUF has got it in their minds that all Dr G weapons are overpowered or somehow fundamentally broken.
Did the Phlog really burn them that much? Because to me the Bison is underpowered (which is a shame, I like the weapon a lot), the Pompson is annoying, but really underpowered otherwise, the Eureka Effect is absolutely balanced, one of the most balanced weapons we've gotten in a very long time, the Manmelter is fine, and the Cowmangler is a tad underpowered, but has its uses. Oh, and the Third Degree, which is still really underpowered, but because it has no downside, it's broken or whatever, ignoring that it's still a terrible weapon.
That leaves the Phlog, which isn't quite as bad as it used to be, and now that the initial rush of everyone using it just because it's new, it's a lot less annoying.

my prediction:
Anti-Death Ray is Underpowered. They don't want to mess too much with Medic, although it'll have sweet sound effects.
The primary is the Righteous Bison with 1 or 2 small stat changes, it'll lack a reload animation, instead reloading the same as the Needlegun
Mule Molestor is balanced, but has an odd and different effect that causes cries of overpowered.
Saboteur is the Righteous Bison for Scout, but fires faster and does less damage (because Scout's primaries are shotguns, his secondary can't be identical to the Bison). Won't have new animations, will use pistol animations with a "charge" like the Manmelter.

and i'd perfectly happy with all of that, save for the anti deathray, but better to have it slightly underpowered, then have it be great and then heartbreakingly nerfed later on.
I hope they add community made sets too. It's already a long time ago community packs got added.

I think that they will make the Anti-Death Ray situational, as they did for the Quick-Fix.
they butchered the Quick-Fix.
They had a balanced weapon and destroyed it because some guy felt the need to tweak everything. It's why we have such treasures as the Bazaar Bargain, Quick-Fix and non-mobility based Detonator. It's too bad they probably won't go back and fix the stats of those three, back to what everyone beta tested and loved.

I certainly hope it won't be AS situational as the quick-fix is. Usually if you use it all you do is succeed in annoying people with it. I personally like the idea of bouncing between people and healing them. But overhealing is almost always better :c
Look, they've had new grodbort weapons planned since february, I'm pretty sure that is enough time to cook up stats for 4 weapons, really.
No no, Valve is like me with my training period's report
They do it on the last day because fuck work

I still have the Beta Quick Fix.
Before they merged the drop system of the beta with the normal one, I used to play matchs on the beta with only the Quick Fix, because it's...good. It's just good.
Stopped playing the beta since then because I'm anticipating the update. I need my drops. :v:
Oh, and the Third Degree, which is still really underpowered, but because it has no downside, it's broken or whatever, ignoring that it's still a terrible weapon.
It might be a terrible weapon, but it's still an upgrade over the stock melee. I don't think any unlocks should be upgrades over the stock weapon, regardless of how useless that upgrade is.
I like my own idea (lol), of non-locking medi-beam that fires a straight line of healing. You can't lock onto allies, but it's statistically identical to the medigun otherwise.
So you can rapidly sweep healing around (kind of spam it I guess), but you have to be more on your toes when pocketing, if you can even pocket at all. Also your uber would be a bit less dangerous, as knockback would be a killer.
There's a few reasons to dislike the Pomson
It's hitbox is much larger than it's projectile
It's bugged with cloaked spies (it drains all his cloak more or less)
It's anti-medic, who are rare enough as it is
And given that ubers are meant to break stalemates, it just slows the game

Bison is just balanced.
Cowmangler should get rid of the 5th rocket and you should be able to critboost it. The -10% damage done and 5% slower reload speed seem a bit pointless too. Also the fact that reflected lazers are full crits should be in the description.
Phlogistinator is just a dumb, skill-less weapon. Seriously, it requires no thought, the only thing you do is run at people and set them on fire, then taunt, then run at people and set them on fire with crits. There is no learning curve to it. It just needs to be redesigned entirely.
Manmelter is only to be used with the Phlog and in that way it's pretty bad. Flare Gun and Detonator are much, much better.
Third Degree is balanced, but only because the Axtinguisher exists.
Pomson is okay, it's not as overpowered as it thought it was before. Just a really annoying weapon to deal with as a Medic or Spy. Also the cloak drain on cloaked Spies is still broken and needs to be fixed. I don't use it much myself because of the bad animations and because it's visually noisy, it's really distracting.
Eureka Effect is okay, I guess, but I find that moving my buildings is just too useful to give up.
What did the Quick-Fix stats used to be?
it's annoying, but still crazy underpowered.
The shotgun, frontier justice, and widowmaker all managed to be balanced, and yet they drop the ball on the pompson. ONE loadout slot could have been 100% balanced, but noooooo they go and throw it away.

Personally I'm okay with the slightly weaker and non crit-boostable rockets, that 5th shot is oh-so wonderful when rocket jumping and raining lasers down on people. What I hate is that damn reload speed penalty. If they would just remove that I'd be perfectly fine with the mangler, even though it's my most used primary right now anyway

I liked more the idea of a Medigun that negated damage done to the patient or reduced it a lot (85% or so), but can't actually (over)heal anyone. Also the patient would have some kind of outline to tell he is near-invincible.
People hardly focus on the Medic when they encounter a duo. if they met a duo with this medigun, they will know the patient isn't killable and will focus on the Medic; that's the downside.
The upside is the ability to easily take down sentries, as they will focus on the patient and can't tell the difference. Also the ability to resist backstabs and headshots.
As for the uber, I have no idea v:v:v
What did the Quick-Fix stats used to be?
In beta it was 40% heal rate, 40% uber rate
In the uber update they dropped uber rate to 25%, making it useless
What did the Quick-Fix stats used to be?
uber gain rate was 40%, now it's 25%, the same as the Kritzkreig (although it's a little higher because of the way the QF works).
I believe it healed a lot faster also, but I can't find the old stats exactly on the wiki page
Currently the Uber gets spent way too fast to be really useful too. At least as far as I can see.
