Major Update Speculation Thread V3: Tonight's the Night, forever and always - Games

hey what if they are putting their stuff there so we can keep speculating until 300th update

More than half the year [i]has[/i] gone by, granted. Valve has given us a lot with this game, and I'm happy with how much I've given back to them for it. I don't know. I want more stuff too, but it's kind of douchey to act so entitled over a free to play game that's constantly been updated with new material, weapons, game modes and community stuff for five years.

With the rise of games like DOTA 2, Super Monday Night Combat, League of Legends, and Heroes of Newerth, I wouldn't doubt them also making at least a mode for TF2 that's MOBA-ish. Medieval Mode was way out there, but they made it. Why not this?

Nothing. Nothing at all, shitty items bar a few really good early ones like the Fast Learner. Then they tease us, adding strings relating to a game mode that we have no idea whether or not it will be worth it. Even worse than that, sure they're teasing us, but teasing degrades into annoying leads, and usually requires some sort of recognition that the team is even capable of pulling it of, showing [I]something[/I] for the time wasted. And yes, seven months. In four days it will be June 15th, seven months since December 15th, the last major update. The rest of December still counts as part of a month remember.

So what's the story with cp_harbor and the sounds? Where they gonna add it in at one point but then threw it away?

Isn't a Day 1 blog post still possible? I feel this was early for an update, even for a small one.

Even a new crate would have been enough to make this a decent update...

The rest of December still counts as part of a month remember.[/QUOTE] Maybe you're just spoiled by how fun the updates were at their peak. Valve is busy with a new game now, that's just how it is. We still get something new every week or two. We still get bug fixes. That may not be much to a longtime TF2 player, but compared to other games, after five or six years, that's really a lot. It's no new game mode, sure. It's no new set of weapons, it's no comic, it's no video, it's no community-fueled awards show. TF2 is like an old man now, and you're asking him do a bunch of flips on a trampoline.
