Major Update Speculation Thread V3: Tonight's the Night, forever and always - Games

the more I look at the patch notes, the more I realize this update was like microscopic. Like, one of the smallest weekly updates we've had.

Stock is just a tad darker, right?

Oh well, this was probably the most dissapointing update. We wanted our Monday Night, and here it is. And talking about Monday Nights I bet SMNC will get an update this Thursday. I'm off to sleep. Tomorrow's my last day at school so I'll have all the time to wait.

We get our usual fix of updates, and great big ones that we go crazy over. As the updates have slowed down, Valve has weened us so that we would desire them less. Unfortunately, this drought of major updates is much more like quitting cold turkey which is why we all just want a major update so bad. VALVE, I NEED MY FIX

but the updates haven't slowed down that much. Compared to 2011, yea, this year is really slow. But '09 and (OMG) '10 were about the same speed. The delay between this update and the Christmas 2011 is roughly the same as WAR and the Engineer Update.

Ugh. I kinda wish DOTA2 was fucking done already so Valve can stop neglecting TF2 and L4D2. That won't happen though. :(

If only they actually treated the voting/rating system on the Workshop seriously, more people could pay attention to that and forget about the ugly lack of actual updates. Treat the Workshop like its own little game for the community. Get enough votes and recommendations, and the item actually gets in. Just have it count for the cosmetics. Let Valve work on the actual weapons/gamemodes/whatever the fresh heck they're working on right now. It's a win-win, no? More people preoccupied with trying to champion their favorite useless misc item on a week-to-week basis, less* people emailing Valve complaining that they don't care about anybody and how dare they choose a pirate chest, etc., etc. *"less"
