This is accurate-ish, but not entirely. I know for a fact that the Western Wear has sold more than 1000 copies, so it's off by a few hundred at least.
Yes, thanks to Private Backpacks.
Well even if tonight's not the major update we'd still bound to get the workshop item. I'd think the next one has to be for the Soldier. It's been a while since he got a new weekly item. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=72218567&searchtext= I kind of want that.
we should create a hipster revolution for the Conquistador. Make people want to wear it because nobody is wearing it. Like a modern day Gatsby
How does the Conquistador look like with the Gunboats? Maybe I'll get one if I don't buy the Orange Box again soon (damn sister, stealing it and getting the Proof of Purchase, even though she doesn't even like TF2)

Mannconomy was a one day, sudden update
I'm doubting that they'd release such an update out of the blue, considering all the stuff that's allegedly contained in it.
Every update after the Engy update and before the Uber update was released out of the blue. Manniversary too.
Could work like halloween 2011, where the comic was half a day away from the update, so it felt like two separate events. Still a one day update, but it felt a lot more like a multi day update
Every update after the Engy update and before the Uber update was released out of the blue. Manniversary too.
The majority of updates have been released over multiple days, and those that weren't contained minimal amounts of content (maps, modes, videos, valve-made weapons) in comparison.
the Mannconomy was one day and added a similar amount of content as the Uber Update. Australian Christmas 2010 was a one day update, it added a bit less content than the Mannconomy, but still a respectable amount (of mostly melee weapons). It also had one Valve weapon :o Hatless was a one day update, and despite not having any new weapons, it changed a lot of TF2 and how items are added, and without it we wouldn't really be in the position we are in today.
Speaking of rare hats, am I the only one who regularly wears a Benefactor's Kanmuri? Ever since I got it, I haven't taken it off Scout.
Speaking of rare hats, am I the only one who regularly wears a Benefactor's Kanmuri? Ever since I got it, I haven't taken it off Scout.
Is this loadout rare?
The majority of updates have been released over multiple days, and those that weren't contained minimal amounts of content (maps, modes, videos, valve-made weapons) in comparison.
There was actually a lot of content in many of those updates, let's take for instance the entire trading system, indeed new game mode's and maps, and the only valve-made weapons since the engy update were the Uber update medic ones so I hardly see how they're a good indicator of anything, but okay then. Edit: Also the original round of class updates comparatively didn't have as much content as we get in a big update now if you want to go by content amount.
the server side schema as we know it was added in a one day update, and it's one of the most important changes to TF2 since trading and the store.
This will be a small update too; just a new gamemode and some weapons.
This will be a small update too; just a new gamemode and some weapons.
that describes the Heavy and Medic updates. Hell, the Classless update was a multi-day update and didn't even have new weapons.
Something absolutely pointless: What do you think this patch will be named?
Something absolutely pointless: What do you think this patch will be named?
The Rise of the Machines or some sort of 80s sci-fi movie theme. I expect a lot of Robocop and Terminator references in the descriptions of the items, the blog post, and other media. The Tf2 team is a bunch of guys who grew up in the 80s, they'd readily identify with Terminator or Robocop. Or both. also, have a comic, while we wait [thumb]http://chzmemebase.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/internet-memes-mcdonalds-these-days.jpg[/thumb]
The Man vs. Machine update.
Soon? Soon?! You're giving me flashbacks to edgy times. [edit] That smug faced, wonderful, bastard.
the server side schema as we know it was added in a one day update, and it's one of the most important changes to TF2 since trading and the store.
I'm talking about updates that significantly affect the actual game... I'm not as into the whole items, hats and trading system as most people on FP seem to be, a major update for me adds significant new and interesting gameplay content. The last update that really made me excited was the Engineer update, everything since has been disappointing in comparison. Uber update was exciting for the buildup to Meet the Medic, but there are so many weapons nowaday that I really couldn't get thrilled about the mountain of new ones, most of which turned out to be inferior to their vanilla counterparts or had tweaked stats. The reason I talk about Valve-made weapons as an indication of a major update, is because it often adds a new paradigm to what can be created for that item slot. A lot of workshop weapons are created on the basis that they are a replacement for a weapon already in the game. Valve adding some new weapon, say the Chargin' Targe, opens up a whole new variety of potential equipment in the future. Valve weapons are also induitably of higher quality because they have full control over animations and effects that can be inherent in its purpose, which leads to a wider range of possible gameplay possibilities. Community weapon makers have to work within the bounds set out by existing weapons, whereas Valve are not restricted in this way. In any case, they're not going to release Meet the Pyro out of the blue, without some hype. It's a huge marketing opportunity which they took full advantage of with the Uber update, and given that they've got (hopefully) got a large new game mode to introduce that's worth hyping up as well. There's also likely a veritable fest of item sets they've been working on, and I could also see a new Pyro set made by Valve, in the fashion of the Clinical Trial item set.
Looking at those TF2 item stats, I wonder who owns the Normal Professor's Specs, Normal Purity Fist, Community Liberty Launcher, Community Original and Community Machina. I also didn't know the Map Maker's Medallion was already distributed Edit: Holy shit Community Sandvich and Blutsauger. Do want.

Community Machina is Helljumper, creator of the modeling tutorial most people use (and also the Capotain). Original is some guy who makes youtube videos about the week's TF2 news. Personally, if I were ever bestowed the honor, it would be a gunslinger :>
you get exactly one redo of your community weapon. Personally, if I were ever bestowed the honor, it would be a gunslinger :>
Really? That seems kind of unfair considering that new weapons are added all the time and you'll have no way of knowing if a new weapon will come out in the same slot as your one that you will prefer more or is just a straight upgrade like some have been. Edit: I can understand why because you're not meant to change it around every other day, but still.
What's up with people thinking the Conquistador is a bad hat I wear mine proudly
Community Quick-Fix :allears: If the backpack sparkles, that's a bonus.

Never forget (Talking about community weapon redos, he had a Community Bushwacka but months later asked for a Community Liberty Launcher)
you get exactly one redo of your community weapon. Personally, if I were ever bestowed the honor, it would be a gunslinger :>
Community Rawkit Lawnchair all day everyday. But first I'd have to actually do something worthwhile.
