Community Rawkit Lawnchair all day everyday.
But first I'd have to actually do something worthwhile.
The only thing that i can figure out how to do is translate the Wiki, which i would proberbly try and do sometime tomorrow... Community Rightious Bison...
I want to do something for the community just so I can have a Community Conniver's Kunai for my collection.
Community Conniver's Kunai
well that joke was super funny
The Community weapons should work like Strange weapons and have a kill count in the description. They are unique enough to have those.

Hey baby! I can dream O' kay?
I'm a moderator in a language group in the Steam Translation Server, have the most suggestions in the group, fixed a good bunch of bullshit translations, rewrote Coach and Rochelle's lines (the company hired by Valve who translated those used Google Translate and a cat), translated the Lab Rat comic, translated most of CS:GO, part of Dota 2, evaluate new users, basically I'm an active member.
I don't have a Community Weapon because I was told they don't give those anymore, even though there are people who did way less and have one. And I doubt a Translator Hat is even a thing anymore.
But honestly I've seen some shit in that server. Not even TF2 is safe. "Kill 25 Scouts and Pyros with the Grenade Launcher." being translated as "Kill 25 scottish people and Pyros". "Remove server from favorites" being translated as "Remote server working from the favorites". "Bat an enemy 25 meters." translated as "Bat a 25-meter tall enemy".
If I don't deserve a silly virtual item at least I deserve to be called the saint of patience.
well that joke was super funny
Better make sure I make a post saying I didn't find the joke funny so I look like less of an ass. Oh, wait.
I don't have a Community Weapon because I was told they don't give those anymore
Who told you that? I know at the very least map makers still get them.
How do they grant you a Community weapon anyway?
They email you, saying "CONGRATULATIONS YOU'RE THE 1'000'000TH USER TO VIEW THIS EMAIL" and they ask you what Community weapon you wish to have?
Or do they give you one at random/based on your playing stats?
I've always wanted to do something to contribute but I'm a lazy shit.

You get one based on the class with most hours played and their most iconic weapon by default. So Scattergun, Rocket Launcher, Flamethrower, Stickybomb Launcher, Minigun, Wrench, Medi-gun, Sniper Rifle and Knife.

I was told by Valve that they were not giving community weapons to Steam Translators at that time. My guess is that they want to give a special hat to translators instead of community weapons, but I believe they scrapped that idea at some point. Who knows.

Oo, I'd get a sticky launcher. Not bad at all.
Speaking of Elbagast and Sticky launchers, he just posted a wip screenshot of his upcoming Demoman set. :v:

Some of the items are pretty clever, like the bomb exploding kit, surprised it hasn't been done before.
There's a translation community thingamajig? They should let me translate. I know a few words in a language whose speakers almost entirely speak English. I say almost because there's probably a 3 year old being raised in it who hasn't learned any English yet. It'll be great, give me a hat.
[Though really they are better off without those incentives knowing the lengths people go to get items. On the plus side maybe it'll convince somebody to learn Urdu or something.]

Don't lose hope, think of the UGC medals and the mapper's medallion.
That bomb exploding kit is a really cool idea, I'd definitely want a Demoman misc like that in the game.

I'm still waiting for a ETF2L medal. Which, according to them, it will still take quite some time to get those distributed.

No, they ask you want type of weapon you want. At least that was the practice when I got mine.

That's what I was fearing, I'm mostly playing Pyro, but thanks to Halloween, my class with the most hours is the Scout :v:
I was told they are looking into an alternative to community items, a way for contributors who don't make models to get monetary rewards.
...
[sp]which was their response to me getting a community weapon for the community schema[/sp]

yea, Magoo is thinking of the old way. Now they just straight ask you.

I was going off a youtube video of some guy who has one that I saw ages ago, hell I might be recalling it wrong even. I'll try find it though.

Oh well, that settles that. Also bl on the sparkle gun Ned.
After the weekly update today, we'll be 5updates away from the 300th one. The 300th update will hit(if everything is on schedule) on July 19th so maybe that's the magic date in which we'll get the major update and every update from now till then will be just teasers.
Or Valve can be dicks and do the release on the 301th update.
That counter hasn't been updated in a while. The wiki says there have been 296 patches, which would place the 300th update on July 5th. (http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=68544225 , anyone?)
The wiki counts updates without patch notes, TF2.com does not.
And I count major updates and there's none
that set is pretty good, the hat just looks too bland for my taste though.
Also, the nade launcher will be pretty hard to distinguish.

the launcher has an extra piece at the top, and entirely different back, a shorter barrel and a different sight. Plus it's bright team colored.
Not a chance

Looks like Tim Allen decided to finally embrace his life long passion and become a demoman.
The nade launcher doesn't look at all hard to distinguish. It's got a completely new colour scheme (the Loch n Load and original grenade launcher both use identical grey/brown colour schemes) and the silhouette has a different grip, a rail on the top and a weird new stock. The Bailiff's Bombs seem a little hard to notice imo. I like the hat too personally.
